Elon for the Busler Family — TN

Forrest & Valerie Busler’s adoption journey began in 2012, when Valerie’s sister and brother-in-law adopted a 2 year-old boy named Minho from South Korea. Minho brought immense joy and love to the Buslers’ lives, and soon they began to wonder if international adoption might be a calling for them. Now, Forrest and Valerie are parents to three amazing internationally adopted children (all Reece’s Rainbow kids, of course!): Mikko, now 13, was adopted from Armenia in 2017; Robby, now 16, was adopted from Armenia in 2021; and Nurai, now 8, was adopted from the Republic of Georgia in 2023. In 2025, after finding “Elon”, Forrest and Valerie felt God was calling them to adopt this sweet boy, and they began the home study/dossier process for the fourth and (maybe) final time.

Forrest & Valerie’s dear nephew Minho was an enthusiastic champion of international adoption and of Reece’s Rainbow, and he was excited about having a new cousin. However, in February 2026, Forrest and Valerie’s hearts were broken when Minho was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and died just three weeks later. In the midst of their grief, Forrest and Valerie have joyful anticipation of adding “Elon” to their family, knowing that life, love, and loss are inseparable companions.
