Dino
To accept this child’s grant, a family would also need to agree to share their contact information with RODS Racing.

Dino enjoys cuddling and sometimes acts spoiled, but is obedient and gets along well with the other children. He is an active and restless little toddler, with a big smile and long eyelashes. He likes to sit in his stroller out in the sunshine, and will lift up his legs to peel off his socks! Dino has Down syndrome and has been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect (PDA), but has not received any surgery for it.
From a September 2018 update: Dino likes climbing and standing, but needed support for walking. He plays with other children, and will clap while looking in the mirror. He likes swinging with the children and building blocks with the other children during group class. He can tear paper and use his pincer fingers to grab things. His language was not clear, but he will laugh and try to imitate sounds. He recognizes familiar people and understands adult facial expressions. He is a lively baby. After getting acquainted with others, he will often show a cute smile and two cute little dimples. At this time he has not needed to undergo any heart surgery, as his heart is doing fine.

Bryson
2017 update: Bryson is a cute and smiley little boy! At the age of 1.5, Bryson was transferred to a foster family. Bryson’s foster mom sends him to a program in the orphanage during the day. She picks him up for lunch and to bring him home at night. There are a few others kids from the orphanage in his foster family too! Bryson has good motor skills. He can walk and run well. Sometimes he crawls back and forth on the toy shelf. Bryson likes snacks and can pick out biscuits and deliver them to the caretaker to let the caretaker help tear the package open. He can understand simple instructions and is pleased to finish things that he is allowed to do. Bryson can distinguish between familiar people and strangers. He can walk over and give a hug to express affection after seeing a familiar caretaker. He is not afraid of strangers.
If you hold his hand and say “let’s play outdoors, Bryson,” he is happy to pull your hand to walk to the door. Bryson understands his daily schedule well. He can take off his shoes and walk to the activity room when he arrives to the center each weekday morning. When his foster mom picks him up at noon for lunch, she will call his name at the door and he will run to the mom and leave the activity room. He often runs ahead on the way home and will stop to touch and look at interesting things. Bryson likes playing outdoors. His caretaker takes him to play outdoors on sunny days. He also likes music and dancing. He can shake his body along to the beat and will imitates a bird flying. Bryson is a good sleeper and is still in diapers. Bryson appears to be receiving good care and is doing quite well while he waits for his forever family to see him! We hope that will be soon!

He can pick up tiny things with his thumb and index finger. Abel gets along well with others, and is attached to his caretakers and granny and close to his roommates. His language is just starting to develop, but he does follow simple directions.
Abel is generally a contented child who likes to have the caregivers play games with him. He will giggle when the games include shaking rattles, mirrors, and hide-and-seek. He has general delays in walking and talking which is typical for children with Down syndrome. He enjoys being in the class with other children and he likes watching what goes on around him.

At present, Abel could transfer from lying on back to lying on abdomen and vice versa, likes playing on the mattress, he would be very happy when caregivers tease him with rattles. While lying on back, caregiver shake her hand in front of him, he would giggle, smile when being teased. He often scratch his forehead or look at his hands. He would lift his head high supported with arms against the mattress, look around, play toys with handle. Abel could grasp toys on the toy shelf, try to grasp little towel covering on his face, clap his hands and laugh. He often roll for toys far away, he likes looking at the mirror, shake his head seeing himself in the mirror, try to touch himself in the mirror.
