Carli and Chris met in 2013 and married in 2015. They live in the agricultural reserve near D.C. with their two daughters (1 and 3 year old). Carli works part time as an Occupational Therapist and Chris is a career firefighter / EMT. Carli and Chris discussed adoption for the past couple years but it was always a “someday when it’s more convenient” thing. They began foster care training. As Carli was scrolling through Reeces Rainbow one night (which she did almost every day!) she fell in love with a “new listing.” After much prayer, research, and discussion (and tears!), Carli and Chris decided to begin the homestudy process and begin the paperwork chase!
Carli and Chris are excited to be on this adventure!
Some verses that have inspired them in this journey:
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of sound mind.” – 2 Timothy 1:7.
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” – James 1:27
The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Then he will say to those on his left, “Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.” They also will answer, “Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?” He will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.” – Matthew 25:40-45
