VP shunt is placed and endoscopic third ventriculostomy (EVT) was completed in July 2018 . She has a mild form of bilateral clubfoot that has made great progress with serial casting and daily AFO usage. The orthopedist does not believe that surgical intervention will be required. She is a sweet child who enjoys playing with toys and other children. She attends an on-site English preschool where she is working on improving her fine motor skills. She can identify colors, count to 10, and sing both Telugu and English songs. She plays well with the other children and has appropriate attachment with her adult caregiver. Josie is speaking in 3-5 word sentences, primarily in English though she does understand her Telugu speaking caregiver. Josie currently crawls and scoots on her bottom to get around. She receives physical therapy 4 times a week where she is working on standing independently, walking with a walker and building her core strength. Josie has diminished feeling below her knees but has been making good progress in physical therapy. She is able to pull to a standing position and often does so throughout the day without prompting. She is making progress walking with the assistance of a walker. She is able to navigate her current home without difficulty. She goes up and down stairs by crawling/scooting and using her upper body strength. Josie is a happy child who loves to laugh and smile. Videos available!
