BLAINE for the Woertman family — NC

Frederick and Candy Woertman are looking for monetary assistance to adopt their third child from Asia. Grace was our first adoption. We adopted her at the age of 3. Grace has cerebral palsy and limited use of the left side of her body. When she started school at age 4 she was measured to have a cognitive ability of 6 months. With the help of many professionals, Grace has learned to use a gait trainer, feeds herself, climbs up and down stairs, can do math, volunteers for the smart board, and now has a cognitive ability of 23 months. This is 4 years makes me excited for the growth in the next 4 years and beyond. Joy was our second adoption. We adopted her last year at the age of 7. Joy has Down syndrome. Joy had never been to school but was thrust into Kindergarten upon her arrival. This year she is about to complete first grade in a mainstreamed classroom. She has learned a lot of English and continues to astound us with her understanding of the language. She likes to swim, jump on trampolines, ride her bike/scooter/skateboard, and watch Peppa Pig. With the support of many, we are just as excited to see what the future holds for our little Joy dynamo. We are now looking to provide a home for another. We feel that we are blessed to provide a home to kids that need a home. Watching the growth physically, emotionally, educationally, and spiritually of our children is where we draw our excitement. We are looking to adopt a boy with Down syndrome this time. Join with us in providing support to get us to Asia and bring this boy home.
