CORY for the Soto family — KY

Two Christmases ago, in 2023, Lucas and Ginny Soto’s family decided to participate in Reece’s Rainbow MACC campaign.  They chose a sibling pair from the list of eligible children on the website and then spent the time leading up to Christmas talking, thinking about, and trying to advocate for the pair.  After the Christmas MACC campaign ended the Soto family continued thinking and talking about their MACC siblings and finally concluded that they were just the right fit to be added to the Soto sibling group that currently includes Lucy (15), Alex (12), and Maria (10).  The Sotos made an inquiry about the pair but were told that they were already in the process of being adopted.  Fast forward 8 months, and Ginny saw that the little boy was back up on RR as a single child.  The pair had been separated and the sister adopted by a family in their home country.  The Sotos were disappointed and sad about the pair having been separated, but now more determined to try to bring the little boy into their family.  Their adoption application was approved around Christmas time 2024.  They have spent 2025 working through the home study process and paying the initial upfront adoption costs required.  They are now so happy to have a completed home study and are in the process of waiting on their I-800A application approval and preparing their dossier to send to their little boy’s home country. They are hopeful that by next Christmas he will be part of their family.
