ADELA for the Hill family — TN

Tim and Cheryl have been married for over twenty years and have three sons; the oldest is 19 and is in college; the middle son is a senior in high school, and the youngest is a freshman in high school. In 2015, the Hills felt called to adopt from China. Little did the family know, this was the time their daughter was being born. The family prayed about the possibility to adopt for years and in January 2018, they took a leap of faith and began the adoption journey paperwork. Starting over can be scary, but they knew this was what they were called to do. At this time, Cheryl purchased a simple bracelet with the words “Keep Calm Trust God” inscribed on a simple washer. She wore it every day to remind her that God is in control of this adoption journey. When they first saw their daughter’s face, they first noticed her chubby cheeks. Their three sons had cheeks like that when they were babies. They received a video of their daughter, and right away noticed that she was wearing a necklace with a simple washer on it. They have received confirmation after confirmation that this precious child is their daughter. Months, hours, and mounds of paperwork have proven to be challenging, but rewarding. They received and signed the official LOA on December 5, 2018. This date was significant because it was exactly three years to the day that their daughter was found abandoned outside a gate. Three years later, her parents signed a paper stating they agree to adopt this precious child. They named her Meili, which means beautiful. In addition, Mei means beautiful and Li means beautiful, so combining the two, she is extra beautiful (she also rocks an extra chromosome). The Hills’ journey to bring their daughter home is almost complete, but a lot of finances are coming due. The family believes that where God guides, He provides. The Hill family asks for prayers as they continue to step out in faith and obedience to bring their precious daughter home. Any contributions to bring Meili home would be greatly appreciated.
