Hello, we’re Kurt and Cyndi Petrich. We’ve been married for 10 years and have eight wonderful children—four biological and four adopted through God’s plan. Both of us lost our spouses later in life. God brought us together when we both agreed to join a mission trip to help special needs orphans in Eastern Europe. We met while serving, fell in love with each other and the children we met, and after returning home, we got married. Since then, we’ve continued serving these children.
During a long mission trip, we met a sweet, brown-eyed girl who quickly became part of our hearts. God brought Dasha into our family in 2018. When we got home, our daughter started praying every night in her native language: “Praise God, My God, please bring my best friend home.” She prayed this same prayer night after night. We felt God calling us to grow our family again. Around this time, we learned Tanya had a sibling. We were excited to find both girls listed as available for adoption. We prayed deeply, and once again, God led us to say yes to both children. God is mighty!!! He brought the girls home in October 2020. Dasha has been with us for eight years, and her sisters, Tanya and Veronica, have been home for six years. The changes we’ve seen in them are truly miraculous. They are loved, and they know how to love. The Lord spoke again, and sweet little 7-year-old Maria came home for Thanksgiving 2024. We cannot imagine our lives without her.
Recently, we saw a precious older girl who moved our hearts to pray once again. “God, can we be her parents?” We believe the Lord has given us a resounding yes! We wholeheartedly believe God’s Word in Psalm 68:5-6: “God sets the lonely in families.” We openly admit and profess that adoption has deepened our faith and understanding of God’s deep love and affection for his children. We witnessed God perform miracles during the journey of adoption with Dasha, Tanya, Veronica, and Maria.
He shows us again and again that He is faithful. Our prayer is that hearts would be moved to help us bring our new daughter home. Hebrews 10:23, “Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for HE who promised is faithful.

The Petrich family has met their $1200 matching grant from Loving Starfish, in memory of Flankcheska Reyes.
The Johnson-Manning family has spent the last several years navigating the ups and downs of adoption and settling in together as a family. While in the process of adopting and raising Elspeth, they were also quietly following the story of a now 12-year-old boy who they call Benny. Now that Elspeth is home, safe, and thriving, they finally have the opportunity to bring Benny home too.
Benny has spent all 12 years of his life in an institution. Like his future sister, Benny is blind and nonverbal. He also has cerebral palsy and several medical needs that simply cannot be met where he is now. They are determined to give him a life surrounded by love, stability, safety, nourishment, and access to the medical care, therapies, and educational resources he deserves.
Benny has waited a very long time for a family. With your help, they can finally bring him home.
This time around, the financial strain is especially real for the family, as their recent move to a new state (so that Elspeth, and ultimately Benny, can attend a remarkable school for blind children) came with major and ongoing expenses. It was the right move for their family, but it also stretched them thin. Delaying Benny’s homecoming wasn’t an option; he needs a family now. And that means they need their village more than ever.
Your gift doesn’t just help the Johnson-Manning family adopt Benny. It gives Benny the chance to grow, to heal, and to be cherished, and to finally belong.
Josh, Al, and Elspeth thank you from the bottom of their hearts for helping bring Benny home!
