SHAWNA for the Cassel family — VA
Dean and Andi Cassel have been married for eight years, and have three wonderful children, ages 7, 5, and 3. They met while both were serving in the Marine Corps, and married a few years later. Now out of the military, they have settled in Virginia, and truly live dependent on the grace of Christ.
The Cassels have felt the call of adoption on their hearts for several years, but over the years, the call has matured with new light and life. It took seven years for them to act on God’s prompting, but it was through those years that they realized God was preparing them for a specific adoption. He had grown their hearts and turned them toward the child with special needs; and more specifically, to a child with Down syndrome. This seemed out of the blue, and perhaps bigger than they thought they could handle; and yet there was no fear. Only peace, and excitement.
Dean and Andi feel humbled and privileged at the same time, and whole-heartedly anticipate the arrival of their newest little one. The whole family is excited about the prospect of bringing home their daughter/sister, Shawna!
They would appreciate Prayers, and if you feel compelled, financial support as they move forward in faith to bring Shawna home!
