Isaac for the Hutson Family — OK

Mat and Necia met in college while working at Karsten Creek Golf Course in Stillwater, OK. Just after they met she turned to a co-worker and said “I am going to marry that boy!” Eleven months later, her prediction came true. They have been married 7 years and have been blessed with two children. Andrew and Olivia were both born prematurely after very difficult pregnancies. They were advised by multiple doctors to not have more children. They had talked about adoption, but Necia wasn’t ready to give up on having more biological children. Over time though, thoughts and conversations about adoption grew into a whole-hearted desire to answer God’s call to care for the orphan.

Necia spent many hours looking through waiting child profiles. She knew in her heart that their next child would be someone that had special needs. One evening she was looking through profiles like she’d done often before, but this time was different. A little boy caught her eye. She started reading through his profile and knew instantly that he was going to be her son. She learned that he has neurofibromatosis, a genetic disease also shared by Mat and Olivia. He also has mild developmental delays, slight hearing loss, and possible fetal alcohol syndrome. Necia was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to show Mat. He agreed that they needed to do whatever was needed to make him part of their family.
