OLLIE for the Jaco family — CA
Joey and Karly have been happily married for 6 years. They met in 2003 when Karly moved to the US from Australia, and quickly became friends. They were married in 2006 and knew that it wouldn’t be long before they started having children. They knew they would also like to adopt someday. They have three beautiful girls. Kyah age 5, Savannah age 4 and Ava age 2. Karly gets hyperemsis (24/7 throwing up) when pregnant so pregnancy is tough, and with Ava there were many complications that caused Joey start to consider that it might be too tough on Karly to have anymore children naturally. After Ava’s Birth they found out she had Down Syndrome. Also during a complicated labor, Karly was severely injured. For a lot of Ava’s first year they struggled with Karly recovering from injury, learning to walk again, and care for the children. Dicovering a new normal with therapies for Ava, and lots of Dr appointments. It was a long hard year, that strengthened the family and helped them grow that much closer. Considering all the complications with pregnancy and birth that Karly had been through, they felt that now might be the time to adopt.
Karly found Reece’s rainbow on a blog one day, while bedridden, and went back to look over the children many times. Karly always felt that people that adopted those children were amazing, she didn’t think she could do it. One day, while in the process of filling out an application for another adoption agency, Karly decided to go check out Reece’s Rainbow. That is when she found Jaxon. Karly showed Jaxon to Joey, and they both couldn’t get him off their minds. They prayed about what to do, and before long they knew.
They committed to adopting Jaxon first, and after many months of paperwork, fundraising, laboring, investing into and loving Jaxon, they found out that he had passed away. This news was devastating to the whole family. They had lost a son, the girls a brother…
As hard as it was to “move forward” they knew that they couldn’t quit. They continued forward to adopt Micah. Only to find that door close a few months later when Russia closed it’s doors. They are continuing their adoption in honor of Jaxon, and Micah, and will be bringing a brother home. Considering the plight of all the orphans on Reece’s Rainbow, and knowing what happened to Jaxon, there is a great urgency to get Ollie home.
There are many family members and friends at home, that are so anxious to love on this little guy. Please consider making a donation to help the Jaco’s bring their son home. All life is precious, and deserves a chance.
