EVAN for the Brown family – WA

James and Veronica Brown have been happily married for almost seven years.   James is a retread plant manager, while Veronica works part-time at the hospital as a surgery scheduler.  Their work schedule is perfect so Veronica is able to spend so much time in the mornings with her 1-year old son, David, who has Down Syndrome.  David’s diagnosis was a surprise to the couple as her prenatal screenings were negative!  But James and Veronica took the news very well and considered the diagnosis as a blessing and honor, since God obviously trusted the couple with an extra-special baby with an extra-chromosome!  In raising their son, they have been able to first-hand “see” the blessing of Down Syndrome and they find it hard to believe that there are orphans out there that will be sent to an institution if they are not adopted by the time they turn 4 years old!  In an evening of searching the internet for Down Syndrome related topics, Veronica stumbled upon Evan’s picture on the Reece’s Rainbow website, and her heart absolutely melted for him.  As days past the only thing on Veronica’s waking mind was Evan.   Her husband would get daily phone calls at work that went, “Guess who I’m thinking about…”, and their nightly prayers just had to include little Evan.  She brought up the idea of international adoption to her husband, who was very supportive (to her surprise!).  With a loving and supportive family backing them in their decision, James and Veronica have stepped out in faith to pursue adopting the beautiful little boy.   They trust that God will help them in their journey with an extra measure of faith, patience, and extra finances to make this happen!
