Melanie is a delightful little girl with a laugh that will brighten any room. She loves to be picked up and spun around, danced with, or held upside down. She enjoys being tickled or playing hide and seek with scarves or blankets. She is extremely bright and could use sufficient speech therapy. She is great at letting you know when something is wrong by calling out or crying. She is working hard to use her hands, as well as her head and mouth to manipulate toys and objects.

Melanie has demonstrated clear attachment to her favorite caretakers. It’s very obvious that a consistent family would help her to thrive most. She recognizes people and is even able to say some names. She gets very excited when people come and very sad when they go. She would bring unending joy to any family!

Tommy is an almost seven year old boy who has been living with an American expatriate foster family since he was a baby. Unfortunately this family is unable to adopt him. Tommy was born with hydrocephalus, which was corrected with surgery when he was an infant. He now goes for regular reviews, but has had very few medical needs since then. He will continue to see a neurologist for his hydrocephalus monitoring, as well as a possible orthopedist for some minimal walking concerns.

Due to his diagnosis Tommy is slightly delayed in a variety of skills, primarily in fine motor development. He is currently in Kindergarten and doing well. He is completely verbal in English, can walk, use the toilet, feed himself, and generally do most tasks a typical seven year old can. He loves animals, especially elephants, reading books, riding his bike, and playing with his older siblings. He is a well-behaved child who enjoys making others laugh.

While Tommy is well-loved by his current family he is in desperate need of permanency. He is a delightful little boy who thrives in a family and will likely have a bright future if he’s given all the support he needs.

Zoey is one of the most beautiful little girls you’ll ever meet. She was born with some developmental delays, but then experienced a stroke when she was two and a half. This greatly set back her abilities. However, since then she’s been in a foster family where she’s relearned how to sit, roll, and grasp toys. She is working on self-feeding and becoming verbal again. Although Zoey had a seizure with her stroke she hasn’t had one since, and rarely requires medical care now. However, she may benefit from a better neurologist to understand her brain’s unique functions and abilities. Zoey is not short of opinions and will let you know exactly how she is feeling with tears or laughter! She loves to play and her giggle is absolutely infectious. She loves playing with water, musical instruments, and anything that makes noise. Zoey also loves to eat and isn’t picky at all! She is a social girl who has loved having two foster brothers. Zoey will bring an abundance of joy to any family who chooses to love her forever!

June is a little girl, but she can make a lot of noise! You can often hear her in every room of the children’s home. Just when you start reading a story or giving directions June will start up, blowing raspberries or just experimenting with how high she can yell. When she’s feeling less feisty June loves to cuddle. She enjoys spending time in someone’s arms or a carrier, and will often fall asleep there. June cannot see well so she prefers toys that make lots of noise- she’s especially good at using her legs to kick the piano mat or crinkle wrapping paper. She also enjoys being tickled or gently bounced on a lap. June is working very hard at sitting up on her own- she has fantastic head control, can flip herself onto her stomach, and is also improving at grasping toys independently. June would benefit from good medical care to better control her epilepsy. She will bring lots of noise and fun, as well as an abundance of love to any family that chooses to bring her home.

Vivian is a beautiful girl who has been living at her children’s home since she was an infant. She has multiple disabilities including a Traumatic Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy, and Epilepsy. It’s believed that Vivian has some level of both a hearing and vision impairment, although her caretakers are not sure of a specific diagnosis. Vivian also had her right hand amputated as a baby and uses a g-tube to eat. Despite all this Vivian is a happy, lovable girl who continues to make daily progress towards understanding her world and communicating with those around her.

Vivian spends most of her days sleeping. But when she’s awake she will use facial expressions and verbal sounds to indicate her feelings towards something. She enjoys soft and warm textures, music, and being snuggled by her favorite people. She enjoys getting out of her wheelchair and stretching out on the couch. Vivian is the sweetest, most content girl, and a family would be lucky to call her a daughter. She would bring a sense of peace and joy into any household, and find so much safety in having a family of her own.
