Jill is a beautiful little girl. She is active and smiley. She is afraid of strangers, but close to familiar people. Jill likes playing with toys that make sounds. Jill is a deep sleeper and she has a normal appetite and often holds her own bottle to drink. At the time Jill’s file was prepared, she could turn over, sit, and stand while holding onto or against objects. She was learning to walk in the walker and could make sounds. Jill likes smiling, interacting with adults, and being held and kissed. She enjoys listening to music and is said to be easy-going. Jill is receiving therapy every day and progressing in all aspects. She is from a former partnership orphanage and agency staff have met her when she was just a little baby. We are hoping to get an update on her and hoping that her family will see her very soon!

Jill’s file was updated in October 2020. She is active and energetic. She likes to play and is very happy. Jill is well-behaved and obedient, but afraid of strangers. She currently walks with assistance, and is not yet potty-trained. When she is afraid, she likes hugs.

Everyone LOVES Jolie!!!! She is two and a half, and she is outgoing and full of life and love. What a little sweetie! At 15 months old, she could raise her head if lying on the abdomen, could crawl and turn over, could sit alone freely, could grasp toys near her, could take blocks out the cup, could bang toy blocks together, could visually follow moving toys, could search for the sound source and could search for dropped things. She is outgoing, active and restless, likes music, would wave her head along the rhythm, fond of playing toys, would crawl to seek for toys to play, get along well with other children, play well with other children, seldom cry, when she cries occasionally she will be fine when cuddled.

It is impossible not to smile when looking at pictures of Jenna! She has got character too! In a very recent update, Jenna’s caretakers described her as happy, outgoing, and active. Jenna was brought into care when she was almost 4 months old.

The staff gave Jenna a name representing their good wishes that she would be beautiful, optimistic, happy, and healthy. Jenna was assessed and no medical conditions were found. Jenna does have down syndrome. It is shared that Jenna is a healthy child, who rarely gets sick. At 12 months of age, she was raising her head, turning over, grasping at toys, and sitting upright with support. She enjoys watching television, and is a gregarious child. Jenna’s updated pictures and videos show that she is a very flexible little lady. Jenna would absolutely thrive with the individualized care and attention of a family!

Jayla is an adorable little girl! She loves candy and has a good appetite! She likes to listen to music and play games. Jayla is said to get along well with the others around her, though she is a true introvert who prefers to play alone. At one year old, she could roll over and sit with support. By two years, she could crawl, sit on her own, and feed herself finger foods. She was babbling to the other children. As of November of 2017, she could walk while pushing a rolling toy and her hands are flexible. Her favorite activity is playing outdoors and she enjoys toys that make noise. Jayla has a couple new pictures and a written update (Feb 2019). She definitely needs a loving family and access to resources she needs to thrive.

Jaya is an adorable little girl with a sweet face! During her first year of life, her growth was delayed in comparison to same-age peers. Her caregivers describe her as introverted and she prefers quiet time. She loves being cuddled by her favorite caregiver, and can distinguish her from other caregivers who are less familiar to her. She can hold up her head while lying on her stomach, although she cannot yet crawl or sit upright. She can babble sounds like “nai nai” and her caregivers describe her as easy to smile! She can be very attentive to where she can follow the direction of sounds and voices, and can visually follow moving toys—she’ll even reach out grab toys nearby. WACAP staff met with her in May of 2015 and reported that she was relaxed and had a good connection with her caregiver; she makes good eye contact when interacting with others! She has soft muscle tone and needs extra support of her head and neck when being held. We have several updated photos and videos from our trip for interested families!

Janie has good gross and fine motor skills and can say simple words. Janie was sitting independently by 15 months of age, crawling at 18 months, standing with support at 20 months, and was walking with support at the time her file was prepared. Janie was born with down syndrome and a congenital heart defect- ASD with PH. She had surgery in September of 2016 to repair her ASD. She had pneumonia at one point and now has trouble with breathing when she gets colds in the winter- medication seems to help with this. Janie is waiting for her forever family to see her and know she is their daughter. Could that be your family?

Meet Hollie! She came to the orphanage when she was just a few months old. She has Down syndrome, and according to her medical she has dextrocardia (a rare heart condition in which your heart points to the right side of your chest, instead of the left side). However, there are no medical reports, test results, etc., in her file to support this. Hollie has the motor delays typical in kids with Down syndrome. She also has strabismus (crossed eyes) so often seen with Down syndrome. Hollie loves to play, loves to listen to music, and is a generally happy little one. Hollie needs a family, and the therapies that will help her reach her full potential.

There is an agency grant of $6,000 toward her agency fees for a qualified family. Hollie is waiting for you!

She also likes to interact with adults and can follow simple instructions well. She likes cartoons and she will laugh at the funny parts of them! Hazel has good gross and fine motor skills. She can walk and go up and down stairs by herself, throw and pick up a ball when playing catch with someone, and eat snacks by herself. Like many other children with Down syndrome, Hazel has delayed language abilities compared with other children her age. However, she is able to speak simple words like “mom” and “dad” and say “bye bye.” She can also express many of her needs and wants by using simple sign language gestures, such as expressing when she wants to eat. Hazel did have CHD (PDA; PH) when she was younger, but she has had heart surgery and now appears to have no heart-related issues. Hazel has waited long enough! Could she be your daughter?

When in foster care, she was eager to have her hair done every morning and liked to play in the bath. Hana enjoys PE and dance. She has a good appetite and can self feed. Yvette is described by her caretakers as lively and cheerful. She likes to play with the other children and is not afraid of strangers. She will actively greet and interact with others and is said to be more and more lively and cute with age! Yvette goes to school with her friends every day, where she does rhythmic activities, plays games, participates in sports, learns self-care skills, and participates in an early education program. She is full of curiosity about new things. At a garden party, one of the teachers was dressed as a big doll. The other children were a little afraid to get close, but Yvette was not afraid at all! She took the initiative to hug the doll’s legs and shake hands with the doll. Yvette makes sounds of “mama” and “baba.” When she wants to drink milk, she will call “Ma-Ma” around her caretaker. She tries to repeat her caretaker with basic counting. Yvette can build with blocks, hold the spoon by herself, and hold a pen to scribble. Yvette can walk and run independently. She uses the railing for support when going up and down the stairs. She is cooperative and not afraid to play outdoor games.

Yvette is very sensible. When one of her little friends cry, she will take a small towel or napkin to wipe the tears and nose of the little friend to comfort them. She can unzip and take off her coat and take off her shoes and socks. Yvette will clap her hands and laugh when she is happy. She will cry when she is not happy, but if you reach out and hug her, she will show her smile again. Yvette likes to play with bowls and spoons and pretends to eat by herself, often making an “A-mu, A-mu” sound while pretending to scoop rice with a spoon. She also likes to swing and play ball. Every time she swings high, she will laugh loudly! She also likes to imitate her rehabilitation teacher, helping her friends with cerebral palsy by massaging their legs and moving her arms. Yvette has normal eating and sleeping habits. She was born with Down syndrome and congenital heart defect-complete atrioventricular common channel (CAVC), ASD, and VSD. She’s had surgery to repair her heart defects. Yvette sounds like an amazing little girl who is going to be such a blessing to a very lucky family!

Yvette has a $1000 grant with her current adoption agency.
