Jojo is a cute little guy! He can sit, but is quite delayed developmentally. He likes to suck his fingers and play with toy rattles and stuffed animals. He drinks water from a bottle. Jojo will look at someone speaking to him and will grasp their hand and play. He laughs happily when you hold his hands and play with him. Jojo sometimes babbles. He sits well when being fed and cooperates when having his diaper changed. He really needs a family that can meet him where he’s at and help him grow and develop with the love, good nutrition, therapies, and resources a forever family can provide.

Jim is a precious little boy with the best smile! He has been hospitalized for pneumonia and a femoral fracture in the past. Jimmy’s motor development is delayed. As of October of 2018, he could not sit, crawl, or walk independently. He does like to roll over and play with his hands and feet. Jim cannot speak, but knows how to get the attention of his caregiver. He loves to cuddle and tease with his caregiver. Jim is cared for in the infant area with six other children his age. He gets up at 6:00, drinks a bottle of formula at 6:30, drinks water at 9:30, drinks another bottle of formula at 11:00, naps from 12:00-14:00, drinks water at 14:10, takes a bath at 15:00, drinks another bottle of formula at 18:30, and goes to bed at 19:30. He takes a tub bath 3 times every week in spring and autumn, twice per week in the winter, and once per day in the summer. Jimmy loves playing with baby toys and spending time outdoors in the sunshine. Jimmy really needs a family that can pour love into him and help him get the resources he needs to continue to develop.

Jimmy came into care when he was less than two weeks old. He has Down syndrome, but no other medical concerns are noted in his file. In June 2017 Jimmy could sit with support, roll himself over, and crawl on his tummy to reach a toy. He likes to play with people and he likes hugs. He cries and laughs easily. Jimmy is an active little guy who especially enjoys toys that make sounds or glow.

Jasper is an adorable little boy who sure loves to drum! He is sweet, active, and funny and is said to love to play. His favorite toys are brightly colored balls and toys that make musical sounds. Jasper was born with down syndrome, undescended testicles, and congenital heart disease- TOF and PFO. His first stage heart surgery is complete and was successful. Jasper has been progressing in his development and is receiving great care. He likes when his caretakers tease him in a loving way and will flash them his huge smile in return. He can understand his caretaker’s facial expressions and responds accordingly. Jasper likes to play interactive games with his caretakers, such as peek-a-boo and will laugh loudly while doing so. He is very familiar with his name and will turn around and seek the sound source when called. He can sit independently and crawl around to look at himself in the mirror.

As of April of 2018, he was taking his first steps. Jasper lights up a room, that is for sure! We can’t wait to see what lucky family’s life is going to be lit up by this waiting treasure too!

Isn’t James darling? A report from December 2014 says: At the age of 13-16 months, James can sit alone for a while, can make “aa oo” sounds, knows strangers and acquaintances, can roll over, knows his name, can show afraid and angry, can play by himself, the child can play with toys (toy piano and etc) with aunts, and can stand up with hand held. When James is happy he will laugh aloud. At 17 months, James could pronounce simple words, and has a ready smile. He has a good physical state.

Hugo = HAPPINESS! This precious little pumpkin! By age one, Hugo was rolling over and sitting up with some support, but not yet crawling. If he wanted a toy, he would roll and roll until he got to it. When someone he likes interacts with him, Hugo makes happy “yiyiyaya” sounds. He loves music and waves his hands along to the rhythm. Since May of 2017, he has been living with a foster family on the orphanage grounds. Hugo’s caretakers say he is shy and that he likes playing with toys with sounds, interacting with adults, and outdoor activities with adults and the other children in the activity room. He is very close to his foster mom. He is getting terrific care while he waits for his forever family to come forward and get to him!

Howie is a darling baby boy! He has the motor delays common with Down syndrome, but is developing well. Howie was born with polydactyly of the thumbs on both hands, which has been surgically corrected. Howie is sweet, cuddly and likes to babble. He is described as gentle and smiley. Hector has Down syndrome. He can walk, jump and go up and down the stairs. He can say “baba” and “mama”, and he likes to imitate. He can put on his shoes and socks and wash his hands without help. Hector likes playing with the other children and especially enjoys playing outside.

Little Hai’s smile is contagious! Hai first arrived at his orphanage when he was just a few days old. His nannies tell us he can sit alone and is working on crawling, but he can’t crawl very far quite yet. He likes watching cartoons, playing with toy cars, and being around other people! Hai can’t say any words, but he can make sounds and knows to stretch out his hand if he needs something. His nannies think he is a very bright little boy – you can tell he is very aware of his nannies facial expressions and his environment. Hai is such a happy baby! Could you be his forever family?

Timm is a handsome little fellow who was born January 2015, and who enjoys listening to music and playing with toys. He is quiet, shy and gets along well with the others around him. When he sees someone he knows he will reach out for them to hold him and while being held he will rest his head on their shoulders. He is close with his foster mother, and will always watch her when she is nearby, and dances with joy when she comes over to him. Timm has Down syndrome, as well as a congenital heart defect (ASD, PDA, and Pulmonary Hypertension). In May 2015 he had a surgical procedure for his heart and is said to have recovered well.

As of November 2017, he can sit, stand and walk while holding on to rails or by having both of his hands held. He is able to hold a bottle, but needs help when drinking from a straw. He does not yet use words but will make “ah” sounds to express his needs. He knows what ‘no’ means and will cry when disciplined. Timm can feed himself crackers and becomes happy when he sees food! He is waiting to make memories with his very own family.

Nearly three year old Tolliver is described as quiet and is smiley. According to his report in 2017, he can turn over, prop with his elbows at prone position, he can grasp toys. His file states that he can track moving objects and sounds; he will gaze at caretakers faces and smile. Ollie’s 2018 video shows him walking quickly and with a wide smile.

Wendyll is a wonderful two-year-old boy waiting for a forever family. He has a good appetite and is not a picky eater. He loves to eat and will make noises when he sees the caregivers getting food ready. He will even make noises when he is full and the caretakers are eating. Wendyll bathes more in the summer than in the winter, usually right before going to bed. He is a good sleeper and is in diapers. Wendyll was born with down syndrome. His karyotype also showed an inverted chromosome on No. 9. Wendyll is living in the orphanage. He participates in a special education class from Monday to Friday. The special education teachers say he does not speak, but he does turn his head when called. She also said of the 5 kids with down syndrome in her class, he is the smartest. His teachers all like him and have even given him a nickname. Wendyll has made great progress with his gross motor skills. He can sit on the chair steadily, stand up against the desk, and transfer from standing to squatting, to sit on the floor and then to crawl. He has good coordination. In regards to his fine motor skills, Wendyll can bang sticks together, shake rattles, and bang the rattle in his hand to one in his teacher’s hand. Wendyll interacts well with the teacher in his class and will hold the teacher’s hand if she stretches out her hand. He looks at his teacher when she calls him and copies the teacher when she shows him how to play with a toy. Wendyll enjoys playing outdoors, going for walks in the stroller, and observing everything going on around him.

A REPORT FROM APRIL 2017 SAYS: On admission, William is about 6 months old. He is fairly quiet and a smart little boy. He had heart surgery in 2015. After back the institute, he gets the excellent care of our caretaker and he recovers gradually. At the age of 8-10 months, he is excited to see colorful toys, can transfer from supine position to lateral position; his movement of hands and feet is strong; he can put the object into his mouth and lift his hand, can turn his head, can grasp the toy with his hands and look at his hands; he laughs when amused by his familiar people. At the age of 10-12 months, he can hold his head up for a moment while lying on the stomach; he can stare at the adult when the adult is speaking to him and can grasp the toy in his hand. At the age of 12-15 months, he can hold his head high and look at the toy in front of him while lying on the stomach; he can visually move follow the dropping object, can stretch his hands out to reach the toy in front of him; he can roll over and laughs more. At the age of 13-15 months, he can hold his head to observe the thing and people around him while lying on the stomach, can sit for a moment with his back against the support, can move his body with abdomen, can pass a toy from one hand to the other hand; sometimes he can bang two toys together and makes sounds of yiyiyaya, so lovely. At the age of 15-18 months,he can roll over freely in the activity room, can roll over to reach his favorite toys, can prop up his upper body with hands and would watch other children are playing; he laughs when happy and can look for his favorite toy; sometimes he plays with other children; he is attached to the adult; he enjoys that someone plays games with him, such as the game of touching head, listening to music, listening to other’s talking and reading picture books; he knows his name, turns when called, and crawls to you; he smiles at you when happy in order to attract your attention. Now he can sit alone steadily and can stand up with hands holding the support; he is very curious and always wants to explore what he sees; sometimes he sits on the cushion, plays with other children, then he crawls to the adult and runs to the adult’s arms, he is so lovely.

Willy has decided…he will stop sucking his thumb long enough to say he is tired of orphanage life. He wants a family! Willy is 3 years old, and has been at the orphanage since he was a baby. He was found to have Down syndrome, as well as a CHD (PFO/PDA) which has not required treatment. We are waiting for verification of that. Willy has the expected delays associated with Down syndrome, and will certainly benefit from early intervention with therapies.

There is an agency grant of $2,000 toward his adoption fees. Willy is serious about this…he wants to come home!

Winkler

Winkler is so cool he rules! He can rock his roll on the plasma car. While he is still perfecting walking independently, he is able to to crawl to all the toys he is eager to grab and manipulate. Winkler is reported to be strong and in good physical health with no heart condition or other medical issues.

Winkler’s reports also share, “Motor development: he can crawl; can use thumb and index finger deftly.

Adaptability: he can take objects, can take out toy blocks from the cup, and can take the toy positively he is interested with. Language and social ability: he can make sounds of yiya, and can imitate the pronunciation. Personality: he is active and restless, ready to smile, likes playing toys, has quick reaction to objects, but occasionally impatient. Dated May 25, 2016

York is a joyful baby who loves to be tickled! He eats and sleeps well, and knows his name and turns when he is called. He is diagnosed with Down syndrome, as well as exotropia, and his development is delayed. At four months old, York could track moving objects and turn to familiar people. Within a couple months he grew much stronger, though he didn’t like to practice sitting up! He could be held up, and was able to kick his legs and pat with his hands. By nine months he could sit stably on his own, and since turning one year old he can now roll over and crawl. He is able to grasp nearby toys, and is especially interested when he sees a new toy! In November 2017, he joined a foster family in order to get more attentive care, but York truly needs a permanent family to ensure he gets the care he needs!

York’s current agency has a $4000 grant, available to families who qualify, to assist with the cost of this adoption.

Shane Yu is the sweetest little guy!  Agency staff met him when he was only 5 months old, and he was already a champion cuddler! But, my goodness, has he ever grown up since then. Shane is described as a shy, quiet baby who prefers to be held by his foster mom. He lives in a foster home with 5 foster siblings. He sits independently and crawls. He likes to play with toys and can feed himself finger foods. He makes happy noises and vocalizes, but isn’t saying words yet.
