The staff gave Jenna a name representing their good wishes that she would be beautiful, optimistic, happy, and healthy. Jenna was assessed and no medical conditions were found. Jenna does have down syndrome. It is shared that Jenna is a healthy child, who rarely gets sick. At 12 months of age, she was raising her head, turning over, grasping at toys, and sitting upright with support. She enjoys watching television, and is a gregarious child. Jenna’s updated pictures and videos show that she is a very flexible little lady. Jenna would absolutely thrive with the individualized care and attention of a family!

Guy attends kindergarten lessons 3 days per week, and is making great progress in his learning, play, and self-care skills. Guy is very proud that he is now able to independently feed himself with a spoon! His carers report that he is a great little helper, often helping with tidying up after mealtimes or putting toys away when playtime is finished. Guy is a social boy, who actively tries to communicate through a mixture of gestures and a few simple words. Those around him describe him as a child who knows what he wants, and that he will persist in making himself understood despite his lack of speech. Guy is able to follow basic instructions and engages well with his structured daily routine. We are hoping that his forever family sees him soon!

Felix Cooper is diagnosed with Down syndrome, and his thorax protrudes out. At one year old, he could hold his head up, roll over, and sit on his own, though not for very long. Now he can crawl, stand and take steps when holding onto furniture. A social little boy, he interacts with his nannies and makes eye contact. He can feed himself finger foods. His favorite toys are balls and musical instruments! This chubby sweetheart needs a family to give him lots of cuddles!
Handsome Enzo is an extroverted little boy who is well loved by his caretakers! He laughs out loud when other children play with him, but will cry loudly if someone grabs his toy. When people ask “Do you still know me?” he will respond with a huge smile. When his file was prepared at the age of three, he could stand up by holding the railing and could change his body position when he sat down. Enzo can imitate adults by blowing kisses and waving goodbye. He could walk everywhere if he holds onto an adult’s finger. Enzo likes playing with other children and likes colorful toys and toys that make sound. He can sway his body to the music. He can say “Mama, sister is here.” Enzo understands what his caretakers say to him and they all adore him. They say that he is small compared to his same-aged peers, but that he is active and strong. He is very outgoing and will open his arms happily to be held. Enzo has a good appetite and is said to be a steady sleeper. We’re hoping an update will come through for Enzo and that this cutie pie will soon have a family of his own!
Update Oct 2020: Enzo is generally healthy. With reminders, he can go to the toilet by himself. He is outgoing and gentle, and likes to talk with people. Little sweetheart is afraid of high pitch noise and bugs. Enzo has very good gross motor skills. He can run, jump and walk without help. He can fill in colors, connect dots with lines, and pick up tiny things. He sees a speech therapist, and his speech and cognition has been improving. He is attached to his caretakers and teachers. He knows to care for others. When he is afraid, give him hugs, he will calm down then. Enzo has good social skills. He stays with his little friends, and shares toys and food with them.

She feeds herself small finger foods and her favorite food is cake (I’m already imagining a smash cake photo shoot for her third birthday!). This little one likes toys that make sounds and have flashing lights.
Ellie is a beautiful little girl, described as extroverted, active, and smiley. She is close to her foster grandmother, mother, and father and will get sad when they leave her. Ellie gets very excited and happy watching other children play! At the time her file was prepared, Ellie could make sounds and alert her foster grandmother that she had needed something by crying. She would crawl to touch her friends’ heads to express kindness. Ellie was also said to be a good sleeper and a good eater. She loves eating bananas. We’re hoping to get an update on Ellie and that her forever family sees her soon!

His file states – The child is active, optimistic, restless and will cry when meeting with strangers. He will cry when he is hungry or when he wets his diaper. When teased the child can smile, seeing aunts who take care of him, he will move his limbs happily. Under the care and love of the caretakers in the institute, he can feel safe, happy and satisfaction. He has built a solid and close relation with his caretakers. It sounds like this boy has learned to attach which will make it easier for him to attach to his new family over time. Are you his Mama?

Dobie enjoys playing with his older foster brother and playing outside. If his foster brother is being bossy, he will hit him with a toy and sometimes bite him- he certainly knows how to stand up for himself! Dobie loves it when his foster mom holds his hand and his foster mother says he is a smart and flexible little boy. He will take the bottle when someone fills it up to drink on his own. He likes to eat apples and jelly the most. Dobie can learn how to play with a toy quickly after being taught. He really likes the toy trumpet. Dobie also likes playing with small balls, toy cars, and watching tv.
Dino enjoys cuddling and sometimes acts spoiled, but is obedient and gets along well with the other children. He is an active and restless little toddler, with a big smile and long eyelashes. He likes to sit in his stroller out in the sunshine, and will lift up his legs to peel off his socks! Dino has Down syndrome and has been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect (PDA), but has not received any surgery for it.
From a September 2018 update: Dino likes climbing and standing, but needed support for walking. He plays with other children, and will clap while looking in the mirror. He likes swinging with the children and building blocks with the other children during group class. He can tear paper and use his pincer fingers to grab things. His language was not clear, but he will laugh and try to imitate sounds. He recognizes familiar people and understands adult facial expressions. He is a lively baby. He knows to locate the direction of sounds, can visually move follow the moving people or object; he can grasp and beat the toy with hands, or put the toy into his mouth to bite; sometimes he clasps the object directly. Dax knows to get the adult’s attention by crying so that his needs are met. He laughs loudly when happy; he listens to the adult carefully when he is cuddled. He begins to babble. At the same time he makes two or more words, such as da-da-da, a-ba-ba; he recognizes his familiar sounds. Dax is outgoing, optimistic and active; he enjoys that someone is speaking to him. Could you be the family for this much adored child?
Davi likes listening to music, is curious about his toys, and enjoys watching cartoons, playing on ipads, and playing outdoors. Davi interacts well with familiar people. In fact, he loves spending time interacting with his caretaker more than anything else and will smile happily when teased. He loves to explore his surroundings and his favorite location is the kitchen. As of his most recent update, Davi was just starting to walk independently, but was unable to run or jump yet. He can speak baby words, express his likes and dislikes through his facial expressions, and recognize the faces of those he knows. We are loving Davi’s recent photos and videos- don’t miss them! Who will be the lucky family to bring this sweetheart home?
His current agency has a $1500 agency grant available for Davi’s adoption, and also requires that families interested in adopting him need an approved home study to apply.
