Jolie likes to listen and dance to the music, perform, and play with the children who are in the same special education class. Jolie likes performing/dancing while listening to familiar music, drawing, watching cartoons, swinging, and playing with toy blocks. She is not a picky eater and her favorite food is candy, but she can’t chew well and eats slowly due to her poor swallowing function. She is not able to chew meat well and she eats vegetables slowly. It takes her a long time to finish a meal. Jolie is closest to the caretaker who cares for her and her main teacher. She knows how to share her favorite toys and she has good self-care abilities. Jolie is able to put on and take off her clothes, brush her teeth, and toilet independently. Jolie was born with Down syndrome and trichiasis of the left eye. Agency staff have met Jolie a few years ago and had good things to say about her and how she was doing. She finally has a file and we can’t wait to see who her lucky forever family will be!
Joely has a $1500 grant available from her current adoption agency.
Jill’s file was updated in October 2020. She is active and energetic. She likes to play and is very happy. Jill is well-behaved and obedient, but afraid of strangers. She currently walks with assistance, and is not yet potty-trained. When she is afraid, she likes hugs.
The staff gave Jenna a name representing their good wishes that she would be beautiful, optimistic, happy, and healthy. Jenna was assessed and no medical conditions were found. Jenna does have down syndrome. It is shared that Jenna is a healthy child, who rarely gets sick. At 12 months of age, she was raising her head, turning over, grasping at toys, and sitting upright with support. She enjoys watching television, and is a gregarious child. Jenna’s updated pictures and videos show that she is a very flexible little lady. Jenna would absolutely thrive with the individualized care and attention of a family!

Houston is a precious and smiley little guy! Houston can roll over, sit alone steadily, and crawl. He can stand with his hands held and he can change position easily, including going from a kneeling to sitting position. When there are toys beyond him, he crawls to reach them. Houston likes colorful toys and balls. He likes to bounce balls and bang two toys together to make sounds. Houston loves a lively environment and will crawl to a place with many children and sit down to observe the caretaker and children’s activities. He knows how to grab his favorite toy and how to throw the toy he dislikes away from him. Houston also enjoys interacting with the caretaker and playing peek-a-boo with her. He knows some simple instructions, such as “Come here,” “Have a meal,” and “Clap your hands.” Houston will crawl to the caretaker quickly and imitate putting a phone to his ear. He is curious about new toys and familiar with his own name. He turns when called and will respond to the caretaker’s facial expressions. When the weather is good, the caretakers take him to play outdoors. Houston has a good appetite and knows how to use a spoon. He can chew and swallow and can eat biscuits without help. Houston is a good sleeper too. We hope a family will come forward for precious Houston while he is still so young!

Hazel has a $2,500 grant through her current adoption agency!
Hazel is an adorable little doll! She has been a part of a foster family and enrolled in a sponsored school called the Grandma program. She is able to go up and down stairs by herself, skip and stand on one foot. She can draw lines, knows big and small, can button and unbutton her clothes, and wash her hands by herself. She is said to be fond of imitating, listening to music and playing with toys. She has a ready smile and gets along well with others. Her favorite activity is watching TV, and her favorite toy is a rag doll. Hazel is ready to be the joy of her new family!
At school, Harley can raise his hand and answer questions actively when asked. He positively participates in activities. He is said to like to ask the teacher questions to get to the bottom of things if it was something he did not understand. Harley’s concentration has improved too. He can listen to other children’s self introductions quietly, can identify a circle and a triangle, and can find similar shapes around him. Harley is said to be very warm towards his foster mom, teacher, and friends. When he sees his foster mom or teacher’s disheveled hair, he can help manage their hair. Harley was born with Down syndrome, but he most certainly was born with a heart of gold! It is our hope that Harley’s family sees him soon. He is certain to be a blessing!
A specific adoption agency is willing to waive their entire agency fee, for Harley’s adoption!
Additional videos (very recent!) and photos are available from the agency. Families qualify for a $5,000 subsidy through Harper Anne’s current agency.
Hannahlee is a thoughtful and sweet girl. Her overall health has been good. She enjoys playing in the play room, and likes stuffed animals. Hannahlee’s nannies all hope she can find a loving family. We do, too!
Hana has a very generous adoption grant from Journey of a Joyful Life that could cover up to half of her adoption costs! Her file is currently on the Shared List.
Update: 5 year old Hanna is an absolute doll! Agency staff were blessed to meet her in September of 2015. She is in foster care in the orphanage village on the orphanage grounds. She attends school in the orphanage, where she is in her 2nd year of kindergarten. She likes to play with toys and help put chairs away at school. She is friends with all of the kids in her class. She loves sweet dim sum, crackers, and cakes. Hanna likes playing with the sports equipment, especially balls. She is toilet trained.
Hanna was sent to the orphanage in 2014. She had a scar on her neck when she came- the orphanage is not sure what it was from. She is super cute, smiley, flexible, and very friendly! She laughed happily and is always excited to see new people. She offers toys to new friends and is good with sharing. She is not at all aggressive. She only makes noises and mimics. She has a couple of simple words, but is not totally clear. Hanna loves to dance and has good gross motor skills. She has good fine motor skills as well and can string beads. She is independent with her care- she can dress and undress herself and feed herself using a spoon and a cup. Hanna is high functioning for a child with down syndrome. She is a very happy and loving girl who will bless some lucky family so much!
Little Halle is very well-behaved. Every time she is done eating, she will clear away her bowl and take all of the bowls. Then, she will arrange all the little stools. Everyone all really likes bright, clever and sensible Halle. Please help us find a forever family for Halle!
Haidyn also has a $1000 grant with his current adoption agency.
Guy attends kindergarten lessons 3 days per week, and is making great progress in his learning, play, and self-care skills. Guy is very proud that he is now able to independently feed himself with a spoon! His carers report that he is a great little helper, often helping with tidying up after mealtimes or putting toys away when playtime is finished. Guy is a social boy, who actively tries to communicate through a mixture of gestures and a few simple words. Those around him describe him as a child who knows what he wants, and that he will persist in making himself understood despite his lack of speech. Guy is able to follow basic instructions and engages well with his structured daily routine. We are hoping that his forever family sees him soon!
