Darling Theresa is close with and attached to her foster mother and early education teachers. She will laugh at her foster mother when she sees her coming and loves giving her big hugs. She likes playing with other kids and gets along well with the other children and her caretakers. Theresa has a toy she just loves playing with and she can play with it for long periods of time. Theresa could hold up her head at 5 months of age, sit independently at 8 months, crawl at 10 months, stand with support at 12 months, walk with assistance at 14 months, and walk on her own at 18 months. At 18 months, Theresa could say ‘Mama.’ Now, when she sees food on the table, she will point to it and say “ah!” She was able to respond to her name being called by 12 months and could understand simple directions from adults at 18 months. If you reach out your hands to her and tell her “mama hold you,” she would crawl towards you. Theresa was born with down syndrome and came into care at about 7 months of age. She’s ready and waiting for her forever family to see her so she can snuggle and love on them daily.
The agency which currently has Theresa’s file has a $5,000 grant available for her adoption, as well. Other agency grants may be available based on the adoptive family’s circumstances.
