Robinson is diagnosed with down syndrome. His file reports that he does go to a kindergarten- likely in the orphanage. If he doesn’t go to school, his foster mom takes him out to eat breakfast, where he will eat noodles and steamed stuffed buns. If the weather is nice, he plays in the yard. He takes a two hour nap each day. After he wakes up, he watches cartoons or will play with other children in the yard. He then eats dinner and some fruit after that. He has deep sleep. His foster mom watches his facial expressions to determine if he needs to use the bathroom. She then asks him if he needs to go. If he says yes, she will take him to the toilet. He can take his pants off by himself, but needs help putting his pants back on. Now that he goes to school, his language is better than before. He has good imitating ability. Every morning he sings children’s songs he learned at kindergarten. He can put on and take off clothes with help, can go up and down stairs by himself; and he can eat without help (though he eats slowly since he can easily spill). He likes to smile at acquaintances. Sometimes he will call mama or nana and then continue to do his things. if you ask him to share his food, he will feed you and smile at you. Neighbors always say he is a quiet boy who has a ready smile. During summer vacation, his foster mom often takes him outside to let him experience more fresh things and to see and learn new things.
