Gus recently turned 5 and has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome. He was found abandoned in a hospital when he was about 2 months old with a note indicating his date of birth. Gus’ adoption file was prepared around his 5th birthday and it was reported that he eats well and has no food allergies. He can walk alone steadily, go up and down stairs and jump with both feet. He holds a pen to scribble, builds towers with blocks and turns pages in a book one by one. Gus is said to be an active boy with a ready smile. He understands what caretakers say, speaks some simple words and is able to follow directions. His favorite toy is a stuffed dog and he enjoys watching cartoons, listening to music and being helpful by cleaning up after younger children. Gus has no other health issues.
Can he be the son you’ve been dreaming of?
