Jacob Chen Grover passed away in his mother’s and father’s arms on December 15th, 2013 after valiantly fighting the devastating effects of a massive stroke caused by his Moyamoya disease.
Jacob was born in Hangzhou, China on October 6, 2005, where he spent four years of his young life in a loving orphanage waiting for his forever family to find him. In 2010, the Grovers were directed by the Lord to find their Jacob and begin his adoption. They were finally allowed to bring him to their home in Lehi, Utah, on March 17th, 2011. Jacob was sealed to his family in the LDS Draper Temple on April 23, 2011.
Jacob’s mission in life was to share the love of Christ and happiness with everyone around him. With his exuberance for life, he captured the hearts of all who knew him. He taught by example how to love completely, instantly forgive, and love every moment of this glorious life.
Jacob is survived by his adoring parents, Jennifer and James; his brothers and sisters, Emily, Brianna, Joshua, Lauren, Jeffrey and Michael; grandparents, Marsha and Richard Murrow; grandmother, Lorraine Hart, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family is eternally grateful for the Savior’s atonement that makes it possible for them to be together forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Jacob’s honor to www.ReecesRainbow.org, a ministry that advocates and assists with the international adoption of children with Down Syndrome who are desperately looking to find their forever family, just as Jacob did.
$4,655.00 was donated in honor of Jacob
