Robert and Amy Zopp have been married 18 years and have seven beautiful children. When they adopted their daughter from China in 2015, they already had four biological children, and thought their baby girl would be the last child added to their family. However, the adoption of their daughter, the trip to China, seeing the great need in the orphanages, and getting the privilege of being their daughter’s family as she blossomed changed their hearts, minds, and lives forever. Two years later, Robert and Amy returned to China for their son. Both of their children from China were adopted through China’s special needs program.
The Zopp family knew when they came home with their son that they would someday add another child through adoption. Life as a family of 8 kept them busy for many years as they addressed and ministered to the special needs of their children, homeschooled their cute crew, and made two big moves. In 2019, they felt ready to add another child and started the process to adopt a child from Bulgaria. Then, in September of 2020, they saw their newest daughter’s face, “Brenda” on Reece’s Rainbow. As the world dealt with the pandemic, they worked to bring their youngest daughter home. She came home in April 2021.
When Robert and Amy flew home from Bulgaria with their newest daughter, they were sure that would be their last adoption trip. With seven beautiful, active children at home, their hearts and home were full and life was delightful. Every child is a wonderful gift, each with their own talents and abilities, each an incredible blessing to their family.
In the beginning of 2022, as they neared their daughter’s one year home anniversary, Robert and Amy started talking about maybe adding just one more. Their children started asking for another sibling and they all started praying about bringing home another little girl from Bulgaria. They have room for one more bed, one more little face around the table, one more sweet child in their life. As they prayed, they knew the Lord was calling them back to Bulgaria and specifically to adopting an older waiting child this time.
Robert and Amy saw Zalynn’s precious smile on their agency’s advocacy page and requested her file. They fell in love with her immediately. In July 2022, they applied to be Zalynn’s family and were overjoyed when they got the news they were approved. They are working to complete all the required paperwork as quickly as possible and hope to have her home by early 2023.
The Zopp family cannot wait to add this sweet girl to their home. They are fundraising to help with the cost of the adoption fees and travel requirements. Their family is incredibly grateful for any financial assistance you may feel led to provide. They also ask for prayers for their new daughter as she transitions to a new home and family and for their family as they bring her home.
