Adam and Kara have 6 children and are in process of adopting a baby boy from Eastern Europe.
We brought our daughter, Karalyne home in January 2021. Many people ask why we chose to adopt internationally. We learned from a friend who was adopting from the same country as we did that there are about 90,000 orphans living in orphanages. While some children are truly orphaned (having lost their parents), others are abandoned by their parents due to special needs or taken away due to neglect or substance abuse. Unfortunately all of these factors are very common there.
Our first adoption cost about $40,000 and took 8 months from start to finish. We expect this one to cost slightly less- about $35,000 with saving a little bit by only having to update our homestudy and not having to pay for a new Immigration application fee. However, with this savings, we will not have as much time to save and fundraise for this adoption. We are humbly so grateful for your help in bringing home our baby boys!
