Decklan is an adorable boy, born with down syndrome and a congenital heart defect: VSD. His file is quite outdated, but at the time it was prepared, Decklan could stand with support and walk with one hand being held. His fine motor skills were on target. Decklan was very good at finding sound sources, tracking things with his eyes, and distinguishing strangers from acquaintances. He was doing well at imitating sounds and following simple directions. Decklan could point to all of his body parts and has the most precious laugh when playing. He is described by his caretakers as quiet. smiley, and adorable and is said to like to listen to music and play with toys. He gets along well with other children too.
There is a $5,000 agency grant for Decklan’s adoption. An additional special $1,000 grant is being offered between Nov. 1st and December 31st, 2017 for families that sign on and contract during that time period!
