Chip is a cutie who knows his name and will look when called. He enjoys playing with toys. He has a strong grip and can also transfer toys from one hand to the other. He loves toys that make sounds and when people play games with him. He laughs loudly when happy. Chip shouts loudly when he wants to get adults’ attention and always claps his hands happily when his needs are met. At 2.5, he could walk several steps with the help of a baby walker or with one hand held. He can now walk on his own. Chip has good fine motor skills and can pick-up small balls with his thumb and index finger. He tries to use his cup to drink. When he is not in agreement with something, he will shake his head. Chip can make the sounds of baba and mama.
In March of 2015, he entered a foster family. He receives 5.5 hours a day of physical therapy and developmental training in the grandmother class each day. He is cared for by his foster mother the rest of the time. He is very close to her. Chip is a sound sleeper and good eater. He likes to play games with the other children in the same activity room and play outside too. Chip was born with down syndrome and is being well-cared for while he waits for his forever family to see him and come get him! Could you or someone you know be Chip’s forever?
AUGUST 2017 UPDATE: Chip’s orphanage reports that he is high functioning. He likes creative toys like blocks and he understands directions from adults.
