Diagnosis: developmental delays
 

Kody was born premature at 27 weeks gestation. His birth mother smoked during the pregnancy and her amniotic sac ruptured 3 days before delivery. He was breech and delivered via C-section in poor condition and weighing just 2 pounds. Many of his delays are consistent with a child born at this early gestational age.

Today, Kody is healthy, though he has occasional respiratory infections. He’s had eye surgery for strabismus. His motor skills have been delayed as a result of being premature, but he is now walking well independently. He reaches for objects, tracks them with his eyes and has good visual motor skills. He picks up objects and studies them intently. If he is unfamiliar with an item/toy, he will shake it, turn it and check it out in detail to attempt to figure out what it does. He is using combinations of sounds and putting syllables together to make simple words. He does not have any true purposeful speech yet , which is a source of frustration for him when he’s trying to communicate his wants/needs. Sometimes he gets upset and other times, he just shuts down and won’t communicate at all. He enjoys interacting with adults and laughs loudly when being played with. He has a good attention span and will focus on the adult interacting with him or what he’s playing with. He initiates games with adults. He drinks from a cup unassisted and eats with a spoon. He has difficulty with chewing. He has a 1:1 caregiver that spends time with him daily.

DOB: 2008
Diagnosis: Down syndrome, Pseudobulbaria paralysis, Marasmus

Milena is 3 years old. She has had heart surgery and her heart is fully repaired. She is currently fed solely through a nasal-gastric feeding tube. She weighs just 11 pounds. She is significantly delayed. She can roll from back to stomach and sit for short periods of time with support. When placed in a walker, she can not move it with her legs. She will pick up toys and hold them when they are handed to her. She plays with them by knocking them together or shaking them. She makes eye contact and tracks moving objects.

Jared and Jamie met and started dating in high school. They have been together for 15 years and married for 8 years. They are blessed with three biological children, ages 6, 4, and 1. Jamie was a special education teacher working with children with severe disabilities before she and Jared had their children. She put in many hours working with “her” children, and 2 of them were flower girls in their wedding. Jamie knew she would love to bring home a child with a disability but Jared wasn’t sure if the time was right.

Over the past few years Jamie and Jared have felt called to help children in need, and began following and donating to other families who were making this journey. Jamie found Eli’s picture and emailed it to Jared. She asked a friend to pray that he would find a family quickly if it wasn’t meant to be them. Jared saw his picture and immediately fell in love with him. He contacted Reece’s Rainbow on his own to find out more about him! He and Jamie decided that he was the one meant to be their second son, rounding out the family to 2 boys and 2 girls. They are very excited to bring Eli home and their children are excited about their new brother!

Diagnosis: Congenital communicating hydrocephalus. 

The first surgery was unsuccessful, the second surgery was performed but the shunt is still not operating properly on one brain hemisphere.  

Neville shows very little physical activity, is not crawling and not walking, sits with support.  Unfortunately, the child is not getting proper attention and care, as an orphan — he truly needs a family!  

The child is very calm, loves attention and always smiles and so happy when being held.

HIV+

Such a handsome boy, with striking blue eyes.

He is very joyful, he has a normal intellect, he can amazingly well orient himself in his groupa room: he knows where the toys are, where the dining table and his particular place is, he follows the caregiver being led by her voice only, he "drives" the toy car around the room. The caregivers say he can go to the restroom by himself, he eats himself, he is learning to get dressed himself.

Diagnosis:  Cerebral Palsy

Beau does not make an impression of a child who lives in an orphanage from his birth. Beau is very well developed, already knows how to read by syllables and is able to spell, write and count. The child loves to learn more and will be a promising student in a future.  He is kind and friendly with the children and polite with the adults. He can be left alone in a room and will play with puzzles and mosaics for hours. He also likes to draw and is interested in technologies. He is a very accurate boy and likes cleanliness and order. He goes to the bathroom by himself and never forgets to brush his teeth and comb the hair. Beau walks without help but has spastic paraparetic gait.

Developmental delays that are indicative of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Taran has been residing in foster care since shortly after birth. Taran has recently been diagnosed with autism but is otherwise medically healthy. Medicals, social history, developmental history as well as many photos and videos are available for Taran's prospective adoptive family.

Country Requirements:

• Parents must be between the ages of 30 and 48. 
• Parent’s Combined Annual Income must be $80,000.
• Parents must be healthy with a standard BMI.
• Both parents must have attended a college with at least one parent having a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
• Couples must be married at least 5 years.
• Each parent can have no more than one previous marriage.
• Parents must have no criminal history.

An agency grant is available to help with Taran's adoption.

This baby boy’s birth parents have made the decision to make an adoption plan for him based on their financial situation. They would like him to be in a family who can provide all of the medical, emotional and financial support he will need.  The agency will provide prospective adoptive parents Kaden's medical, social history, birth certificate, etc. files.

Country Requirements:

• Parents must be between the ages of 30 and 48. 
• Parent’s Combined Annual Income must be $80,000.
• Parents must be healthy with a standard BMI.
• Both parents must have attended a college with at least one parent having a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
• Couples must be married at least 5 years.
• Each parent can have no more than one previous marriage.
• Parents must have no criminal history.
