Channah

C-S
DOB: Sept 9, 2002
Special need: cerebral palsy

Though she was diagnosed to have mental delays, it’s been noted that it’s like orphanage delays in general.  She does will in day-to-day tasks.  In the orphanage, she has much less education and very rare contact with the outside world compared to other children of same age.

She has been attending the special education class in the orphanage. Yet, she will go to the local special education school in mid-September.

She enjoys playing with balls, listening to music and dancing.  She doesn’t like being ignored.  She likes pink and green, and she likes wearing dresses.

She can walk and go upstairs with no problem. Every day she dresses up, takes the bath, eats and sorts out the bedding by herself.  She can fully take care of herself.

Lauren

Guardian Angel

Girl, Born January 22, 2002

Lauren says “HI Mama!!  I’m here waiting for you!”  (in this photo she is riding a rocking horse!)
Lauren is a super-sweet and active little girl.  She is very social and affectionate, and will do well in a family setting.
From her medical records: achondroplasia
As with all children living in these difficult conditions,  this child’s cognitive development has regressed significantly since he/she was younger.  It is of crucial importance that any family considering the adoption of an older child from the mental institution setting be well prepared for what to expect with regards to how the neglect and lack of adequate medical care and nourishment has affected this child.    These children all have TREMENDOUS potential for improvement, and deserve to have a life outside these four walls.
These children are truly living on borrowed time, and families should be home study approved before an official commitment can be made for this child.

Karen

Girl, Born January 12, 1996

Karen is the older, biological sister of Chrystyna.   She is a beautiful Roma girl with dark hair, dark eyes, and olive skin.  She is 16 years old.  She is healthy and smart and has no diagnosed special needs.    She goes to school and has no negative behavioral issues.  She is just a teen in need of a loving family!

Karen and Chrystyna are living in different orphanages, but in the same region.  It would only be possible for Karen to be adopted WITH her younger sister.  Due to her age, she can not be adopted on her own.

If you might be seeking a sibling set, please inquire!  Both girls need a loving family!

Chrystyna

Girl, Born January 17, 2002

SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!

Chrystyna is a beautiful, brown haired, brown eyed girl who deserves a chance at a better life!  Her official orphanage papers say she has developmental delays/difficulties from birth, but nothing more specific than that.  It is possible she has FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome).  Her biological mother  was deprived her parental rights in December 2004, and the biological father is not known.  Chrystyna has so much potential, and will be a precious gift to any family who adopts her.

Chrystyna is already living in an institution, so we need a family for her right away!

Chrystyna does have a sister, Karen.   Karen does not have any diagnosed special needs.   If you are interested in adopting both girls, you can do so, or Chrystyna is free to be adopted separately.   Please inquire!
UPDATE:  God has been watching Chrystyna.  She was recently transferred out of the institution into a wonderful facility, where they teach these children, work with them, and they appear very well cared for.  The difference in the few girls who were transferred OUT of the institution is incredible!   Please give these girls a second chance for a loving family!

If you are unfamiliar with FAS, please spend some time researching this condition.  Just as with Down syndrome, FAS and FAE have a wide variation of effects on each child, both medically, physically, and cognitively.   This is typically dependent on how long during the pregnancy the mother consumed alcohol, and of course, how much.   There is no way to know this ahead of time.

Kiersten

Girl, Born April 1, 2000

ALIVE and WAITING!   A question was raised about whether Kiersten had passed away, but this photo was taken March 14, 2012 ;)   She still needs a family!

Isn’t Kiersten beautiful?  She is  12 years old but is still very much a toddler.   She is not able to walk on her own.  There is nothing in her medical records to indicate why she is so delayed, and she does not show obvious facial features of FAS…her needs are quite unknown.

From her medical records: significant mental delay, congenital hypothyroidism

Kristie

Girl, Born 2001

Kristie was born with Klippel Feil syndrome, as kyphosis and 6 of her vertebrates are fused together.   Despite this, she is completely mobile and totally functional/self sufficient.  She is also of typical development cognitively.  Kristie's older sister was recently adopted into another family (separated legally), so Kristie is still waiting for her own "forever family".

Hope someone will consider her, more photos available.

AWARD WINNER!! This little girl is the winner of the Most Studious in her class! In the eyes of her teachers she is a positive, enthusiastic and very hardworking student. By holding the wrist of an adult she is able to walk and enjoys listening to music. Although she is considered to be a child with severe special needs she is described as one of the most responsive children in her home. She loves to be sung to, talked to, touched , hugged and giggles out loud when tickled. She has a history of respiratory illnesses, congenital chromosomal disorder and global developmental delay due to mental retardation. Despite her diagnoses of multiple health issues, this sweetheart continues to grow and live joyfully every day. Julie

Julie

Girl, Born April 1998

Love this beautiful Pippi Longstocking!    Julie is a sweet, quiet, but energetic, redhead with big blue eyes and freckles.  When she was placed in an orphanage a few years ago, she did not want to speak.  Now she expresses herself reasonably well, with an occasional stutter.    She studies and recites well in her orphanage, but she is about 3 years behind her agemates.  She controls her actions well, is calm, likes to work, draw and play with toys.  She came to a 3-week summer camp in America and lived with a family, who thought she might have brain damage.  Julie was very patient in adult company, played nicely by herself or with other kids, showed determination and stamina in learning how to ice skate mostly by herself, and loved the water park, descending the steepest, scariest slide with gusto.  Julie has a sense of humor and a hearty laugh.  With a good ear for language, she should be able to learn English just fine, once a loving family gives her that opportunity.  She wants a family of her own.

Donations will be accepted for this child when further information is received.

Carissa 15H

1ozv9-15
Born: June 2002
Eyes: brown
Hair: dark blond
Character communicative, curious

Carissa is blind in both eyes — retinopathia and vessell changes (due to prematuaty); Intellectual delay, Flat feet.

Carissa and her twin sister were in an orphanage from birth, until their aunt took them into her home.  They did not receive the medical care they needed, and Carissa lost her vision.  After three years, when they became 6 years old, the girls were taken back to an orphanage.

Unfortunately, the girls were separated in different orphanages due to Carissa’s blindness, and her sister was adopted.  Carissa is well cared for in her internat, but she was very lonely without her sister.  That is why she was placed in intensive care unit. The girl was in a deep psycological shock – she was separated from her sister, the only person she had and placed to unknown people. She was scared, and she regressed.  In internat they thought that Khistina can not move and talk.  She was diagnosed with deep mental retardation.  Before going to the internat she was walking by the hand, reacted to outside world and recognised people. Not only did she talk, but she was singing!  Now she had no motivation to sing, to move, to talk. The girl refused food. During four months in internat she literally become a skeleton.

Several kids from that internat were brought to a major city for medical help. Carissa started eating better and sitting up. She could not walk, her feets were very weak.  This girl needs care and attention, and will blossom in a family.
