Rough Mental Delay, Spina Bifida, Hydrocephaly low Paraplegia
Maxim is one of the most engaging and lovable children you ever could meet. He picks up English very easily and with the help of a special program (Individual Orphan Caregiver) he has significantly expanded his vocabulary. He started to pronounce words and sounds more clearly and audibly and he can join words into sentences. As Maxim grows it is more difficult for him to get around and he is having other health issues. He was tested recently to see if he could get an operation in Ukraine to help him. There are no physicians in Ukraine that can help Maxim. Physicians have been contacted in the U.S. and we believe he can be helped. Children with Spina Bifida deserve to have a family and live their lives like anyone else. Please take Maxim into your home and love him. Maxim is a blessing to everyone that meets him and you could have this blessing in your arms.
Maxim is absolutely cleared for international adoption, however his physical condition IS delicate and unstable. His "tumor" is interwoven in other internal organs, this is the concern for the surgery and for transport. Families considering adopting Maxim will need to work with us and officials to make special arrangements for transportation. This will incur additional costs, so families should be prepared for this.
Families must be homestudy approved to commit.
Tyler is one of our oldest waiting children. SO handsome!
From his medical records: organic impact of damage of spinal cord; (spina bifida) Damage of functions of pelvic organs; Lower paraplegia
From his caregivers: The boy is very friendly, communicative. He is very artistically talented. He likes to dance and sing. He takes a part in the concerts. He wants be taken to the family. Tyler normally wears glasses, and when he has his glasses on, his eye barely crosses at all. He took them off for the pictures, but he wears them all the time.
From an adoptive family who visited with him in February 2012: "We have really enjoyed getting to know Tyler. He is such an incredible kid! You just have no idea how impressed we are with him. He is very neat and organized, and takes good care of his things. I thought at first he was quite serious, because when I met him, he was posing for his photograph. Now, we've been able to chat with him using an interpreter. He LOVES to read- carries a book with him and uses the library here a lot. His favorite thing are fiction stories. Here, they have a lot of fairy tales, and he enjoys those, but I can so easily see him flying through any of the popular Christian fiction series for boys. He's very smart, and everyone here really likes him. We've seen him with the younger kids, they all treat him like a big brother and he is so kind and gentle with them. Like the others we've met here, he seems very emotionally healthy- it's just his legs that aren't working, not his heart, mind and soul. He would just thrive in a family! The hardest part about today came at the end. He asked how long it will be before his family comes to get him from America. I don't know what to say- he's been listed for nearly a year, and no one has asked about him. He's so hopeful and trusting that he has a family and he doesn't have much time left. I don't know why he has gotten passed over- he'd be an amazing son!"

ABITaiKuangCC– A 10-year-old boy with Mild Mental Developmental Delay, Mild Epilepsy, and ADHD
Lance lived with his bio parents until he was 4 years old. He has a mild mental developmental delay and is currently in 2nd grade. His language comprehension is below average and he tends to display distraction and attention deficit during academic learning. He does obey adults’ instructions and completes his coursework with reminding. While Lance was staying with his foster family, he began displaying agitated emotions and behavior responses. He was seen by a psychiatry office and a brain echo reflected a suspected diagnosis of minor epilepsy. Another psychiatry office performed a brain echo and reported no abnormal findings. The doctor reported that his epilepsy situation had been controlled, but Lance had epilepsy seizures twice in April 2011 while he was conscious and responsive. Therefore, he is seen by the psychiatry office monthly.
Lance has also been diagnosed with ADHD and is treated with the medications Strattera (25)1#QD, Tofranil (10) 1#QAM and Dogmatyl (50) 1#BID.
His birthmother intended to take her children home, but she is incapable of caring for her children due to financial difficulty and lack of parental skills. Although her original family voluntarily provides her with emotional support, they are all low-income households and could provide rare resources for support. Lance is a preteen boy with epilepsy, ADHD and mild mental developmental delay. It is difficult to locate a domestic family for him and his guardian expects that he will grow up in a stable and sound family through international adoption placement. Additionally, Lance has close relationships with his three younger siblings and he sincerely hopes he will keep in touch with them in the future.
Boy, Born January 26, 1998
Emmitt is a sweet boy. He is living in one of the mental institutions, and has been for many years, yet he remains sweet, intelligent, and kind. Ttwo of our adopting families met him while they were there, and are pleading for a family to save him. From his medical records: myelomeningocele (spina bifida) From one of our adoptive families: " Emmitt has a severe deformity of his legs. He cannot walk at all. He is very friendly, funny, and talkative. He desperately seeks out attention. He was talking to my husband, and holding Zack's hand, which he then put on top of his head for Zack to rub his hair. He is extremely intelligent, and just precious! I brought him paper and crayons, and he drew me a flower
"
We are seeking more official medical information about his condition, but hope someone out there will see this sweet young man and know his kind and loving spirit.
