From an adoptive family who visited with her in 2011: When I held Elaina she melted into my arms and cuddled up close. She appeared to be about six months old but the director said she was approximately 10 months old at the time. Although she is small, she has the most adorable chubby cheeks and is surprisingly well-fed compared to the other children we saw at this orphanage. The director explained Elaina is a favorite among the workers because she is so sweet and affectionate. We were told she is "very healthy" with "no heart issues." While I held her she made eye contact and held it. Her eyes were very dark and expressive and she smiled up at me the entire time. She is still so young and would absolutely thrive if adopted soon. The orphanage is in a very poor region and is run down. The children with special needs do not receive any therapy and are treated differently from the other children. However, the director is kind and loves the children and especially wants to find families for the children with special needs because she said "they have no future here." She also told us Elaina has been in the orphanage since birth and was "rejected at the hospital" by her birth parents.

My, what big eyes you have, Claudia!
Sweetheart was just getting over the chicken pox when her picture was taken (in the pink pjs), so that's the reason for the green marks on her face (medicine on her pox marks).
Claudia has a calm and happy personality, and is generally healthy; no heart issues.

What a little muffin! Love that little pouf of hair. Precious Ruth has Down syndrome, but is also listed with a possible chromosome deletion. She has a congenital hip deformity (perhaps dysplasia?), and a heart condition (pulmonary valve stenosis). She's also listed as having malnutrition.
All these conditions can't help but contribute to her teeny size; she would greatly benefit from a family as soon as possible.
Married couples only. Older parents and large families welcome. Travel required.

Date of Birth: January 2009
Gender: Female
Eyes: Brown
Hair: dark brown
Nature: Calm
Aisha is a doll baby! We do not have any further medical info about her at this time, but please inquire with our agency partner.
Aisha's region requires married couple only, small families ( no more than 3 children at home), VERY comfortable financially, and preferred experience with Down syndrome. This is a particularly costly region, so total adoption costs could exceed $33,000. Aisha's adoption and others from this region will open the door for dozens and dozens of other children with Down syndrome just in this one region alone!
