Lina is a beautiful girl with lots of medical needs. She’s a beauty. Everyone falls in love with her big open eyes and long eyelashes. Lina understands people very well, including their moods. Up to 7 months, Lina was babysat by nannies while she was in the hospital. She knew them very well and loved them too. She is now in the Orphanage.
UPDATE OCT 2012: Lina’s condition and development are much worse than before, now that she is in the orphanage and not the hospital. She can not move because she is too weak and underweight!

The first surgery was unsuccessful, the second surgery was performed but the shunt is still not operating properly on one brain hemisphere. Neville shows very little physical activity, is not crawling and not walking, sits with support. Unfortunately, the child is not getting proper attention and care, as an orphan — he truly needs a family! Neville was born a twin, but the family only took the healthy child home 
The child is very calm, loves attention and always smiles and so happy when being held.

An additional comment was sent to us: From looking at the picture of this little girl it appears that at least her one eyelid has a cleft to it and if that is the way it appears, she has what is called a coloboma of her eye. I know this because my daughter was born with the same thing and has since had it repaired.

This little one has been waiting SO long. This gorgeous little blondie has a significant heart defect and needs to see a cardiologist. She needs a family quickly! She also appears to have strabismus. She has the most beautiful eyes!
Update Fall 2011- She is not mobile, does not speak, but she takes food from the grated bottle (bottle with top of nipple cut off, so thicker liquids go through), and can understand some things. Despite her conditions she can still smile, but doesn’t know how to play with toys and throws them.

Update Summer 2012 – He is social and interacts with adults and children. He shows a strong interest in re-pronouncing syllables. He knows his name. He knows how to do children’s songs with actions. He understands when you tell him its time to eat, or he needs to get dressed, and every other day activities. He has developing fine motor skills, and a short attention span. He is calm and affectionate, and his memory and thinking are poorly developed.

This darling little boy is waiting for his forever family. He has very unique facial features, but I am unfamiliar with the condition that causes these. One of the possible diagnoses we have been made aware of *may* be a form of Russell Silver Syndrome (RSS). This most recent photo shows he is growing well, and seems to be active and relatively happy. After what we learned about RSS, it seems much more likely than the previously supposed progeria, which is good for Austin! Please consider adopting Austin and helping him be the best that he can be! There will never be a place for him in his country outside the walls of an institution, just like our children with Down syndrome.

This darling little boy is waiting for his forever family. He struggles with significant cleft issues and facial deformities. He also struggles with kidney problems. From his medical records, they indicate that he has Edwards Syndrome, also known as Trisomy 18. This is quite a challenge, and most children do not survive past birth. We do not know if he has any of the other complications, but he clearly has many of the facial features and cognitive delays.
Maybe there is a super special family out there who will give Shaun a chance to really shine, and be all God intends for him to be!
