Katrina is ready to give you a hug! Katrina is a shy, easygoing toddler who eats and sleeps well. She has been diagnosed with Down syndrome and has postoperative CHD. Katrina enjoys interacting with other children, watching TV (she loves the ads!), and playing with brightly colored toys. Katrina can’t walk yet, but she crawls well to get around. She is especially close to her caregivers and enjoys listening to music with them. Katrina needs a family who will love her unconditionally and a warm and caring environment where she will flourish. Could your family be what Katrina needs?
The agency hopes to place Katrina and Kaitlyn with the same family. They were born on the same day, both have Down syndrome, and there is a possibility they may be twins. If so, we do not want to separate these two sweet girls! What fun times are ahead for the family who brings these two little ones home to be their daughters!

Carly is a chubby little girl, who was quite relaxed and content when our staff visited her orphanage. She seemed perfectly happy on her nanny’s lap, and reached with curiosity for the things handed to her. She has been diagnosed with Down syndrome. An extroverted little girl, she’s not afraid of strangers, and loves to be held, but can also entertain herself playing in her crib. She isn’t speaking yet, but will say “ah” to communicate, and understands simple directions. When she sees other children eating, she’ll reach for her caregiver like she’s asking for food too. She can roll over, sit and crawl, and though our staff saw she can bear weight, she’s not motivated to stand or walk yet. She can feed herself finger foods and hold her bottle to drink, and cooperate when getting dressed. She loves colorful balls, and dancing along with music! We have many photos and videos of this cute little one!
There is a $4000 Child Grant that may be available to families through the agency.

Down syndrome, post-op CHD
Spring is 2 years old, and just adorable! She came into care when she was 7 months old (approximately), and was found to have Down syndrome as well as a congenital heart defect. She had surgery in 2013 to correct the TOF/ASD (Tetrology of Fallot / atrial septal defect) and recovered well. Spring is a very quiet, very sweet little one who really needs a caring, loving family, who will provide her the therapy she requires. Spring has the typical delays seen in little ones with Down syndrome, and being confined to her stroller/walker is not helping her. Spring’s left ear folds down a bit, but there is no known hearing issue involved. They have noted in her file that Spring’s favorite activity is “being held” (how sweet is that!?). This little one is ready for a family.

Fran, born October 2012 is a rosy-cheeked toddler diagnosed with Down syndrome. In her report written when she was 15 months old, she was enjoying the company of her nannies and studying them closely when they talked to her. Fran was saying mama and “diedie” and was trying to say other words. The caregivers described her as a smart little girl with a happy temperament who loved toys that make noise. Fran was at that time a little clumsy and behind other children her age, but was working hard to learn to stand and walk. She loved being cuddled and was delighted to be taken outdoors to feel the wind blow and hear the birds chirp.

Nani is an adorable baby girl who is 1 year old. She came into care when she was about 6 months old. She was diagnosed with ASD/PDA, which has been successfully surgically corrected. Nani has Down syndrome. Nani’s development was not up to her peers at the time of her report, but we do not know how much of her delay can be attributed to her past heart issue or just typical Down syndrome delays. Nani needs a family who will love her (that will be easy!), and help her receive the therapies she needs to catch up. Nani will be such a sweet daughter!

Xina is a very well-behaved little girl. Her skin is fair and she is chubby. She has become extremely adorable. Little Xina is one and a half years old this year. Because she has Down syndrome, Xina’s physical development is slightly behind other children the same age. Now, Little Xina can crawl and turn her body over and roll. She is able to understand what adults say. If you call her name or clap your hands, she will look at you and she is able to quickly crawl to you. Xina likes rag dolls. She is very clever. Xina still cannot talk, but if you talk to her, she will babble responses to you. Xina is an extremely pretty and adorable child. We really hope Xina will find her forever family!
