Francine was born in November 2012 and has Down Syndrome.
Francine is very active, holding toys and playing with them. She can stand and cruise in her playpen or walker and crawls very well. She is able to roll from back to tummy and vice versa and even climbs from crib to crib.
Francine loves to play with other children and is very alert and aware of her surroundings. She responds with a smile when someone speaks to her, knows her name, and babbles syllables. Francine eats from a spoon. Her orphanage director, doctor and caregivers describe her as high-functioning.
Update June 2014: Francine has been moved to an older group at her orphanage where she has adjusted well. Her doctors are very happy with her development. Francine’s heart defect was successfully repaired in April 2013 and she has not had complications from the surgery.
