EUGENE for the McAuliffe family — OR

photo fwbutton150.pngKristina has been a natural caregiver her whole life. She is a single mom to three wonderful boys. Her youngest son is blessed with Williams Syndrome. Kristina has been a licensed daycare provider for 15 years. During this time she has cared for many children with sever special needs. She’s taken care of children with Cerebral Palsey, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, ASD, and of course Williams Syndrome. Kristina has always welcomes these children with open arms when other daycares turn them away. Kristina loves being a daycare provider because she’s earning a living and home for her own children’s needs. It’s the best of both worlds. Kristina knows the love of adoption because her mom was adopted. Most of Kristina’s family has passed away. Losing them so young has left Kristina with a deep passion for family. Kristina always knew she wanted to adopt. After seeing a friend fundraising through Reece’s Rainbow she began asking questions. Her friend introduced her to the profiles on Reece’s Rainbow. Kristina spent weeks reading hundreds of profiles. She knew she wanted to adopt but how? She had little savings, she was single. She just felt it was impossible. God kept whispering you can do it. She prayed about making the best adoption decision for her family. Kristina has no idea how she’s going to raise the money for this adoption. She has already doubled her work hours. She knows it’s going to take hard work. She is truly jumping in on faith.

DAVY for the Peters family — WA

Joe and Ronda fell in love while in high school where they met one night during a high school football game. A couple of years after graduation they were married and soon started their sweet family. They have been married and best friends for 23 years and have four beautiful children. Ronda has been a stay at home mom enjoying raising their children and Joe has worked for the phone company for the last 21 years. They enjoy their family time getting outdoors and hiking together. Family is very important to them, always putting their kids first and being involved in all their activities. Though the years as their family was growing they experienced the loss of two babies due to miscarriage which then started the conversations of adoption. They then had two rainbow babies three years apart, their youngest being born with Down syndrome. The beautiful experience of love and joy from their son being born with an extra chromosome inspired more conversations of adoption and in particular a child with Down syndrome. Ronda came across a photo of Davy from a fellow mom of two children with Down syndrome, one that they had adopted, who was advocating for Davy on Instagram. Ronda said she read the words “Be sure to show Davy’s picture and pray for him and for a family to adopt him…… Maybe that family is you?” Ronda felt a wave of emotions come over her and as she looked at Davy’s photo she knew in her heart that she was his mommy. Joe and Ronda soon after started the adoption process knowing Davy would complete their loving family. They are very excited to be on this journey and are trusting in the Lord as he leads them through this adoption. Joe and Ronda would love the support of prayers and the generosity of donations to raise funds to help bring their son Davy home.

Augustine for the Creyer family — PA

Meet the Creyers! Casey and Michael met online in December of 2013. They were shocked to find out that they only lived a mile from each other in their small town. Michael was Casey’s restoration in faith, as she had just gotten out of an emotionally abusive relationship. They were married in front of their friends and family in April of 2016, and closed on their first home a month later.

They struggled to conceive for a year, after Casey’s diagnosis of PCOS. Adoption was always part of the plan, because Casey’s brother was adopted, and she wanted to adopt too. She discussed her plans with Michael, and because of her relationship with her brother, he was on board too. The plan was to continue to try to conceive, but begin to look at local agencies and try to get some paperwork out of the way. They went to a local agency for an information seminar, where the presenter was advocating for this little guy in Albania. Once the presentation was over, they asked to see the little guy she was advocating for. It was love at first sight. Both Casey and Michael fell in love with this little boy with Down syndrome, and knew that he was supposed to be their son. They then jumped right into the adoption process. They had no plans on adopting a child with special needs, but after seeing him it didn’t matter. He was their boy. Michael was a little hesitant and nervous, but knew they could do it. Casey was a special education teacher and had a lot of tricks up her sleeves.

While they were trying to get their home study finished, they were told there was another family interested in Augustine. They were crushed. Luckily, the agency was letting both families write a letter of intent to express their interest, and plead their case. It was the longest 2 weeks ever, but they eventually got the call that they had been chosen! Casey cried happy tears, and Michael wore the biggest smile. Now, they are working on immigration and getting their dossier together to go and bring their son home!

ZADOCK for the Clark family — UT

Nicole and Jeremy are excited to announce the adoption of their fourth son from Bulgaria! Alex (7) came home from Bulgaria in July 2014. Then, in August 2016, they brought Jon (6) and David (5) home. Soon they will get to add their youngest (4) to the pack. Nicole stays home with the boys while Jeremy works as a Middle School teacher, swim coach and CrossFit coach.

The Clarks are adopting, not because it’s an especially convenient time or because they are looking for more to fill their plate. They’re adopting because when they happened to see this little guy’s profile on an adoption site, and recognized him from their son David’s orphanage, they simply couldn’t turn away. Adoption, when it’s a little bit of a stretch, is such a vivid picture of the way God loves and rescues his children. Nicole and Jeremy are humbled to get to show off God’s lavish love in their own small way.

Of course, they cannot do it alone! They are so grateful for the support they’ve received in the past and even now through the love and generosity of others. As they prepare their home and hearts for their fourth, consider giving to help get him here as soon as possible!

KELLAN for the Jolly-Lee family — DC

Tierra and Rusty first met in 2007, as Teach for America corps members in post-Katrina New Orleans. Though their paths often crossed, they didn’t become friends until 2009, when a chance teacher happy hour commiseration over breakups and homesickness sparked a lasting friendship. Both returned home for graduate school and married other people, but they stayed in touch, always able to ask each other for the kind of advice most folks are too polite to give.

When their first marriages ended, they again turned to each other to commiserate. Emails became text messages, which led to phone calls of increasing frequency. On one of those calls, Tierra suggested that they find a way to spend time together over their spring break off from teaching. Rusty agreed, and drove up to D.C. for Cherry Blossom Festival. Then he came back the next weekend, and the next weekend, then for the summer, then forever.

In 2017, they finally married each other, and soon after welcomed their beautiful daughter Rocket into the world. Born with the perfect button nose and rocking an extra 21st chromosome, Rocket changed their lives. Rusty and Tierra learned everything they could about Down syndrome, early intervention and IEPs, and about the defect in Rocket’s heart. But none of their research prepared them to lose their four month old baby girl to complications following open heart surgery.

Even in heartbreak, Rusty and Tierra knew they wanted to continue growing their family, but couldn’t shake the feeling that their experience with Down syndrome wasn’t – and shouldn’t be – over yet. After discovering Reece’s Rainbow, they began to discuss adoption. Then Tierra saw one of the most perfect little faces she’d ever seen and instantly knew in her heart that this tiny, precious boy was their son. Rusty agreed, and here they are – grateful that you’ve found your way to this page and are willing to help them bring sweet Kellan — soon to be named Max! — home.

A Family for Finley and Fern

Let me tell you a story about a little boy known as Finley. He is four years old and he has spent every one of those years living in an orphanage in Eastern Europe. I remember the day his profile was first listed on Reece’s Rainbow. I was sure a baby so young would be adopted quickly. But he wasn’t. Over the years his baby photo with the little bonnet and the feeding tube snaking out of his nose was finally updated with the picture of a beautiful little boy who had learned to walk in spite of his special needs. And I thought, surely now a family will claim him. But no one did. Then one day he was joined in the orphanage by a baby brother, and I knew a family would be unable to resist such a darling duo. But they still waited. And then I heard the news that even though he was still just a little boy, he would soon be transferred to a very hard place, a very rough place, where no one cares about little boys and no one protects them. A place where if a little boy is disliked he likely won’t survive his first year there. And my heart was filled with fear for him. And even though it’s not the perfect time for our family to adopt, and even though we don’t have all of the funds to pay for another international adoption, I couldn’t stop thinking of a little boy who has waited and waited for it to be a good time for someone, anyone, to adopt him. A little boy who doesn’t have any more time to wait. And we had to move forward for this little boy because we couldn’t not. Because there is a little boy named Finley who has waited all of his life to be claimed by a family and we are finally coming. Can you please help us give Finley and Fern a family at last?

You can follow our family’s adoption on our YouTube channel Amerikrainian Tribe.

SIMSON and SLAVIC for the Oden family — OK

The Oden family was changed when they found Reece’s Rainbow a few years ago. They already had one adopted child (so they knew the joys and trials of adoption), and one child with a disability (so they knew the joys and trials of raising a child with a disability). When they learned that children with disabilities are institutionalized all over the world, they knew they had to act. God’s call on them was clear – they needed to adopt a child with a disability who was currently institutionalized. One day, while researching adoption, the Odens saw a precious face on Reece’s Rainbow, and knew that call wasn’t “some day”, but “now”. That precious face became their beloved daughter in January 2016.

After seeing an orphanage and the effects of institutionalization first hand, the Odens returned home with an even bigger passion for waiting children. They have often felt like they were impatiently biding their time until God said “go” again. They are excited to be adopting again, and also that this time, God said “TWO.” The Oden family currently has six children, and are excited to bring home two more. However, adoption is costly, and this is their third adoption in 6 years, so they cannot do it without help! All donations toward bringing these children home is greatly appreciated.

photo fwbutton150.pngRachael and her daughter Shyna are a family small in size but big in love and heart! Rachael is a nurse and for the past year and a half has worked one on one with children with special needs. From the first day of working with a child with Down Syndrome Rachael immediately understood how uniquely amazing these children are. She thought that day to herself, what a blessing it would be to have a child with Down Syndrome! She never imagined at that time, the plans that were in store. When God placed adoption on her heart, both she and her daughter were overflowing with excitement of meeting the one that God had destined for their family. Through a path of perfect unexpected turns, uncomfortable bumps and hard dead ends, it all strategically led to that destined door which held Annabeth… the one!

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17

Funding for the remainder of Annabeth’s adoption is still needed and any donation amount is very much appreciated. Thank you for supporting this family’s amazing journey!

GABRIEL for the Kladder family — MI

Ben and Holly are not new to the adoption world, nor to special needs adoption, having adopted all four of their children (now ages 15, 11, 7, and 6), three of whom were once waiting children with special medical needs. Ellie came home from S. Korea in 2006 and Bereket came home from Ethiopia in 2008. Ezra was adopted as an infant domestically in 2011, and XuBin came home from China in 2014. When they arrived home from China in 2014, they both assumed that their family was complete. Holly had been the “pusher” when it came to adding children to the family and she made a vow to God and to Ben that she wasn’t going to push anymore. It wasn’t fair to Ben for Holly to always be leading the charge toward another child and it wasn’t fair to Holly either, as she wasn’t allowing herself to trust God to lead Ben through His spirit, to trust Him with His timing, and ultimately to trust in His plans for their family. She kept her promise.

Holly began advocating for Gabriel, a little boy who had captured her heart back in 2013. She advocated through social media and in person whenever she conversed with someone who she thought might be interested. She told God that she didn’t need to be Gabriel’s mother, she just needed someone to be. Someone needed to love this little boy that she loved. She prayed that his family would find him. She began donating a small monthly amount to his Reeces Rainbow account so that when his adoptive family found him, they would have a grant to use toward their adoption.

Life went on. They were happily raising 4 kids and working full time. Their hearts and hands were full.

Imagine Holly’s shock when Ben told her one day in November that he was 100% positive that they were supposed to adopt Gabriel! The message was clear: they were his family and this little love was waiting for them this whole time. Ben and Holly look forward to welcoming Gabriel into their family in August or September 2018.

A FAMILY FOR SAVANNAH

Pete and Kim have been married for 19 years. The have dealt with the pain and sorrow of miscarriages and have also gotten to experience the exquisite joy and blessing of three precious children by birth. They knew that the pain and sorrow they’d experienced was not meaningless. It was a catalyst for love. God had burdened their hearts for children who were experiencing a pain and sorrow far worse; one they should never, ever have to endure. A life without a family.

Two years ago, Pete and Kim adopted their two youngest children from Asia. What they saw and experienced in the orphanages they visited there changed them forever. There were so many children. Too many. As they adjusted to life as a family of seven and helped their newly adopted children settle in, Kim was advocating for some of the children left behind. Face after face, vying for attention, all in desperate need. In April 2017, Peter returned to Asia to spend time with some of those children in a care center where their youngest daughter had once lived. There he met many children, but one stood out: a 5-year-old little girl with spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy and the brightest smile you’ve ever seen, one of the children Kim had been advocating for over the past several months. He knew right away that she should join their family, but he didn’t want Kim to hear that from him. He wanted Kim to know that for herself. So he returned home and decided to pray about it. He asked God to make it clear. If they were to adopt this little girl, that Kim would not be able to stop thinking about her and, specifically, that Kim would be the one to bring up the possibility of adopting her. Well, wouldn’t you know it, Kim could not get the little girl with the sunshine smile out of her mind. She thought about her so frequently that, frankly, it was getting ridiculous! So she called their old adoption agency and asked if her file was still available. It was, and she had it in her email inbox in under ten minutes. She read it and the tears started to flow. This was their daughter!!! She found Pete in the barn and told him what she had done. He smiled and told her about his prayer. They formally began Little Miss Sunshine’s adoption process that night.

Pete and Kim are very excited to welcome home their Sunshine girl, Savannah! As their family travels this journey, they invite you to partner with them in prayer and support of the children who wait. Because no one should face life alone.

TESIA for the Bearce family — MA

photo fwbutton150.pngMy name is Heather: Steve and I have been together for 7 years! We have a biological daughter, Zee, who is almost 4 and an adopted daughter from China, Mal, (listed here on Reeces Rainbow as Adeline) that is 5. I have always wanted to adopt a child and after a bit of convincing, Steve got on board and we came home with Mal in June of 2015. We knew when we came home from China with Mal that we would adopt again!

Our family is happy to announce we are adopting another beautiful little girl, and Mal and Zee are thrilled to have a new sister. The girls are already making a list of toys to share with her and arguing who will sleep in the top bunk! Tesia (we haven’t decided on a new name yet) will get all the love and care she needs here with us and we are hoping that our 1 in a million girl will love us as much as we already love her!

LEEZA for the D’Angelo family — WA

Michael and Colleen D’Angelo have been married for 22 years and have two biological daughters, ages 10 and 12. Having worked for years with foster children as a social worker, Colleen has seen firsthand how difficult the foster care system can be for children. Michael is also a psychologist, and therefore is familiar with the psychological issues that can arise for children who have been orphaned.

Neither Michael nor Colleen ever imagined themselves adopting a child, especially not an older child. However, that all changed after they hosted a 14 year old girl for the summer.

Having their eyes opened to the plight of orphans, and falling in love with their host daughter, caused them to immediately begin the process of adoption.

They are so excited to take this journey, and learn what the Lord has planned for them over the next 12 months. They proceed out of obedience to the Lord, and out of a genuine desire to provide love for someone who is in such desperate need of love.

MICAH for the Edwards family — TX

The email with his file came and there he was, this little guy with a repaired cleft lip scar and those beautiful Asian eyes and I thought he looked like an Edwards.  Even at that, I had my list of why we couldn’t adopt and I gave that list to God.  Well, God had His own plans (of course) and here we are.
This is our second adoption process.  I can hardly believe that I’m typing that!  He’s in the same orphanage that our “Crystal” once lived in and was born just 3 weeks after we left Taiwan with her.  We spent 3 days in that orphanage with the kids in her group, but leaving with her on that final day was so bittersweet.  We were so thrilled to finally have our Gotcha Day, but so sad that there were still little faces in that room behind her.  I never actually imagined that we’d be going back to bring another one home, but I’m in awe that God is calling us back to amazing and beautiful.  Given, it isn’t always beautiful because adoption is hard, but it’s one of the best beauty from ashes stories I’ve ever been allowed to be part of.

DAWN for the Wilde Family — UT

photo fwbutton150.pngShannon first discovered international adoption – and Reece’s Rainbow – in 2008 after a heartbreaking miscarriage. She instantly knew adopting internationally was something she wanted to do, but Troy wasn’t so sure. After serving as missionaries in Haiti (Troy) and Paraguay (Shannon), they knew first -hand the difference that good medical care, good nutrition and love made in the lives of children – but Troy felt they were busy enough with their 4 children and worried about the cost and risks involved. Two more miscarriages and finally their surprise baby boy followed over the next 8 years, but the dream of adopting a child in need never left Shannon’s heart – and the reluctance to adopt never left Troy’s!

In the fall of 2016, Troy saw the photo of a newly listed little girl, Carrie, and felt something in his heart he’d never felt before. They hurried to get all the paperwork together to adopt her, but were heartbroken when she went into foster care the same week they received the final document. Loving Carrie opened Troy’s heart to adoption, and they decided to wait and watch for another little one to touch their hearts in the same way Carrie had.

Meanwhile, in the spring of 2016, Shannon first saw Dawn’s photo on an advocacy website in her country and fell in love, but she was not then legally free for adoption. After losing Carrie, she inquired about Dawn and was told she was still not available and they did not know if or when she would be. Shannon kept watching and hoping that when the time was right, Dawn would become available, and 18 months after Shannon first saw her photo, she did! When Shannon showed Dawn’s photo to Troy, he felt the same connection she had felt, and they knew it was time to move forward again. Shannon waited 2,434 days for Troy’s “yes” –and all along he was just waiting for the right little ones to come along!

DARIA for the Petrich family — VA

Their first experience with orphans came through a mutual friendship with two amazing people. David and Jane Daulton, heroes in the faith who have been serving orphans overseas forever. (not to mention adopting as many children as they can get their hands on) They invited both Kurt, Cyndi and Christella to join them on a missions trip to serve special needs orphans in the summer of 2015.

Kurt and Cyndi fell in love on the mission field. Both were widows. Cyndi and her daughter Christella took a giant leap of faith by saying yes to a mission’s trip to serve orphans overseas. They were not there 48 hours and they both knew God was calling them to the orphans.

Kurt was planning a trip to Nepal, to serve disabled orphans when God changed his plans and rerouted him to join the same missions trip with David and Jane. The three of their paths crossed (Kurt, Cyndi, and Christella) and they immediately bonded with each other, and their hearts were on one accord for these precious lost children.

Kurt and Cyndi were married October 2015 and in the two years since, they have made 5 trips back to the mission field to minister to the orphan children. They are presently working to help these beautiful children find forever loving family’s and to help forge a new plan that would end institutionalized care for them in this country.

During their journey they met a sweet brown eyed little girl who stole their hearts. This beautiful child desperately needs American medicine and a whole lot of love. We can’t wait for the Lord to bring her home and make her a forever part of our family.

JAZ for the Mason family — VA

For thirteen years the Masons have experienced the added blessing of having a child with “a little something extra!” Back in 2004 their first child was born with Down syndrome.  Life with him has been sometimes challenging but always full of lots of love and fun!   Since then they have added two other children to the family as well, another biological son as well as a beautiful little girl who they adopted in 2009 from Ethiopia.  Recently they have been feeling those familiar tugs placed on their hearts to add another child to their family, so when they saw the sweetest little pictures of Jaz and her bright smile, they began to pray and ask God if this was the child that was supposed to join their family. They felt clearly that this child was meant to be in their family and they have been excitedly pursuing her ever since.

A CHILD for the Miller family — IN

Leon and Gloria grew up in an Amish home where adoption was rarely heard of. After getting married and being blessed with 3 children, they often talked about adoption but always said “maybe someday”, and never really pursued it any further.

After reading a family’s story on Facebook, Gloria came to know, pray for, and support the families of Reece’s Rainbow. It was there that her eyes were opened to the plight of so many orphans around the world. After lots of prayer and careful consideration they decided that now was the time to move forward with their “maybe someday”. They are all very excited to be able to provide a forever home for one little girl.

It is only through the help of family, friends, strangers, and a whole lot of prayers that will make this adoption possible. One of their favorite quotes is, “Do for one what you wish you could do for millions.”

You can follow along in their journey in their facebook group, A Journey of Hope.

VIJAY for the Pohl family — SD

Vijay

Jenny and Randall met online 21 years ago, in the olden days, when the Internet was in it’s infancy. The only problem – Randall was in the US, and Jenny was in England. They didn’t let that stop them, though – they got married a year later (in England), and Jenny moved across the ocean to South Dakota. They have one son, 14 year old Nathaniel – also known as Newt – a soccer loving teen who was born just before his mom turned 40.

As a child, Randall’s family moved around quite a lot, as his dad was in the military. Jenny’s family stayed in one place. Randall has worked for the same company for 35 years. Jenny has worked for over 30 years with disabled children, in many settings, including residential schools, a summer camp, as a nanny, and as a daycare provider. She is currently employed as a personal education assistant in an elementary school.

After discovering Reece’s Rainbow about 7 years ago, Jenny has done her best to advocate for and help fundraise for the children and adoptive families. About 4 years ago she became a “Guardian Angel” for Sealey, pledging to raise his adoption grant and try to find his family. One year she was his “Angel Tree” warrior. While advocating for him, it did cross her mind that she could be his mom, but a conversation with Randall several years prior led her to believe that adoption was not to be for their family.

Sealey

This summer, Randall, too, started advocating for Sealey, believing that there was a family out there for him somewhere. Then, one day, out of the blue, he said the magic words – “what if WE adopted him”? He was still hesitant, and wanted to wait a while longer, to see if another, younger family stepped forward. However, about a month later, he realized that Sealey shouldn’t have to wait any longer, and that HIS was the family Sealey needed.

However, just as they received USCIS approval to adopt, the unthinkable happened – word came from across the ocean that Sealey had passed away.  Despite being heartbroken, Randall and Jenny knew that they had to carry on, and choose another child.

Once child stood out to them,  and they are excited to now bring Vijay home – Sealey will forever be the son of their hearts,  and thanks to him, Vijay will also soon be a beloved son and brother.

LOGAN for the Pirkle family — AL

Taylor and Sarah Pirkle have been married for 6 years. Together they have 6 biological children, yours, mine and ours. Caden-13, Blake-12, Kati-10, Alyssa-9, Tatum-5 and Brooks-3. Taylor is an IT specialist with a medical company while Sarah is a nurse at a home health agency. Their children are active in school and extracurricular activities. Most Friday nights this family can be found at the High School football game cheering on their oldest son in the band and their second son will join him next football season. Their oldest daughter is a competitive dancer, their second daughter is a cheerleader and youngest daughter has shown an interest in dance and gymnastics. Their youngest child is all boy!

Their story to adoption started with a tragedy but will end with a special child gaining a family. Sarah had heard of adopting special needs children through her friend Christy. Unfortunately, Christy and her family experienced a devastating tragedy when their son Auggie passed away suddenly. One day, Sarah was on line checking on Christy and her family when she came across a picture of a child with cerebral palsy. This picture changed her life. It was instant love! But it was not meant to be at that time. Another family wanted this child. So they waited. The child became available again. There was hope! But God had other plans, another family was interested in this child. Finally, God said “NOW”. Through a miraculous chain of events they were able to commit to their child! Their story is just beginning… This loving couple with their children are excited to add a new member to their “herd”.

A CHILD for the Graham family — TX

 photo fwbutton150.png

Hi there!  We are Chris and Elizabeth Graham. Newlyweds. Mama and Daddy to Worth. Adoption advocates. Chipotle lovers. A musician and an artist.

Here’s a little bit about our story.

In early 2015, I (Elizabeth) was living the single lady life when I had the craziest dream. In my dream, I was marrying the love of my life, and there right next to us was my precious, adopted child. It was breathtaking and vividly real.

By mid-2015, I was home study approved and eagerly learning the world of international adoption. After setback and heartbreak, I finally met my son, Worth, in May 2016, and he was in my arms forever on October 17, 2016.

Somewhere in the middle of that beautiful chaos, I met Chris and immediately knew he was the man of my dreams. Chris asked me to be his wife right before we traveled together to pick up my son, now our son. Loving Worth together has been the greatest joy of our lives. Some days are hard and messy and full of tears, but every day is overflowing with love.

Our prayer as a couple is that our love be so abundant that we have plenty to share with the world; now is the time to share our love and grow our family. We have more than we need, so we are building a longer table.

Thank you for being a part of this beautiful story. I can’t wait to see how it unfolds.

VANCE for the Fish family — CO

vance-2016The Fish’s have been married for 24 years. They were high school sweethearts and married 1 year after school. They have three beautiful children, one of whom has an extra “LOVE” chromosome (Down syndrome). Since becoming born again, they never truly obeyed James 1:27 until now. Their ministry work often takes them to the sidewalk of abortion buildings, where they offer to adopt those unwanted pre-born babies. It occurred to them that while doing this ministry, they had not taken serious the work they were doing. In order to obey God’s word, they needed to have a home study just in case a Mom & Dad wanted to chose life and have them adopt their baby. They are almost finished with their home study and no one has taken them up on the adoption offer. They have now found Vance. Vance was abandoned by his birth parents. He is about to age out of the system in his country. Since Vance has an extra “LOVE” chromosome, he will fit in perfectly in their family. Thank you for considering a donation to help them bring home Vance. The family covets your prayers for them and for Vance and is thankful for your monetary gifts!

CLARENCE and ARIA for the Dale family — ID

 photo fwbutton150.png
40929163700 (2)As a family, Jonathan and Laura Dale have a unique set of skills. The Dales were blessed with two biological children, the 2nd of which was born with severe medical complications and mental delays. It was a privilege they were able to enjoy for 12 short years before their daughter passed away from these chronic issues. During this time they also were foster parents to several long term placements and eventually adopted two more children. Again, one a typical, thriving child and one medically complex. In their 21 years of marriage they have learned so much about how to be parents of children with severe trauma and medical issues that it has become their families “normal”.

In January 2017 they saw “Clarence” on a You-Tube video, a little boy in Eastern Europe, who has significant medical needs and has been in institutionalized care his entire life. Laura was smitten and soon Jonathan was on board too! Shortly upon actively starting the adoption process for him, they were introduced to “Aria” a little girl in another region in the same country. Jonathan immediately “claimed” her as his. Laura’s heart followed as well. Their family has decided that both of these children are to be a part of their forever family. Their older boys are on board and excited to meet their soon-to-be siblings.

Being patient and handling “red-tape” is not a concern for this family – it is money that is the greater challenge. Jonathan works three jobs (handyman, mechanic, farm hand) and Laura works from home 40-60 hours a week making baby items and selling them online or at farmers markets. They have also started working every weekend selling hard scooped ice cream at local events to add to their adoption funds. This process is long and tedious.

Adopting two children, from two different regions is incredibly expensive. It is a financial hurdle that can be very frightening. The Dales are up for this challenge and are committed to seeing these adoption through.

If you are willing or able to help them with the financial burden of saving this 4 year old boy and 9 year old girl from living the remaining part of their lives in a crib, this family would be forever grateful!

NIKA for the Calhoon family — TN

Cal and Melissa have been married for 22 years and have eleven children, nine biological and two from Liberia. Their oldest at nineteen is married, so they just have ten still living at home. Both Cal and Melissa had a desire to adopt even before they met. Melissa worked in an orphanage in Hong Kong for a year and a half. It was there that she had the joy of looking after many babies with Down Syndrome and hoped to adopt a special one of her own one day.

God had an exciting surprise for Cal and Melissa, their third child was born with Down Syndrome! Soon after this they discovered Reece’s Rainbow, gushing over the children and donating when possible. There was always the dream of adopting a little girl with Down Syndrome. Life got busy, until recently when God made it clear that He had a special little girl for the Calhoon family.

Everything is perfect in God’s timing, He prepared a large enough home, a great job for Cal, and after what was thought to be a phone call of inquiry, our little girl. We ended up doing things a little backwards and had pre-approval within a few days of calling to ask if our family was too big for adoption!

We have just completed our home study and are trying to remain patient while we wait for our little darling to come home.
