It is our true belief that there is a “forever family” for each of our waiting orphans with special needs. The purpose of Reece’s Rainbow is to raise funds as adoption grants, to help potential adoptive families with the high cost of giving these children the life they so richly deserve.

Your donations and advocacy turn the child on the left into the child on the right!

This page includes the profiles of those children with more than $15,000+ in grant funding available. Put on your WARRIOR shoes and help us find families! PLEASE SHARE THIS PAGE, that others will see it and take that leap of faith to save a child in need.

Faith Ann

Faith RKGirl, born 2012
PRC
Down syndrome, Congenital heart disease, Esotropia

Listed May 4, 2016

Faith was born in March 2012 and was found abandoned shortly after. She has been diagnosed with Esotropia (misalignment) of both eyes, Down syndrome and Congenital Heart Disease (PDA). Doctors in her area have said that her heart issue may self-heal and surgery wasn’t recommended.

Faith’s adoption file was completed in November 2015 when she was 3.5 years old. At that time she was participating in a program and was close to her teacher. She was said to be a popular child who was curious, lovely and friendly. Staff say she often holds hands with friends and foster siblings on the way to and from school. If she sees a child with a runny nose she will get a tissue and help them wipe it. Caretakers say she’s, “so cute and sensible.”

Faith is described as an active and energetic child who enjoys playing with peers and listens well to her caretakers. She can wash her hands independently, undress herself and go up and down stairs. She is fond of listening to music and has a ready smile.

A US Cardiologist has said that her medical situation would likely be quite manageable but whether or not she would need an operation to fix the PDA would depend on her symptoms and a repeat echocardiogram.

Mindey

Mindy (1) EveGirl, born April 2012
PRC
Down Syndrome

Listed: Feb 2015

Mindey likes listening to music and she will grab both feet and shake them when she’s happy. She has a good appetite and is very cooperative during meal time. When her caretakers praise her and say “Mindey is so obedient” she giggles! Mindey has big eyes, a cute round face, and a smile so big she squints! Her development is delayed, which is typical for a child with down syndrome.

As of Nov. 2013, she could sit without help and stand and walk holding rails. She could transfer blocks from her left hand to her right hand and she could grasp toys near her. She could also feed herself biscuits. She can clap her hands. Mindey is shy and quiet. She likes watching children’s cartoon movies and is focused when watching TV. She likes being held and asks for hugs from familiar people and sweetly leans her head on her caretaker’s shoulder. She could pronounce simple sounds like Ahah and mama. She would smile sweetly, but seldom imitated her caretaker’s speech. She likes outdoor activities and snacks.
