 Our Most "At Risk" Children
All of the children on this page are between 3 and 5 years of age. They are all facing imminent institutionalization! The closer they get to the age of 4, the more dismal their hope is of being adopted at all. These are the children who do not have the "luxury" of sitting around and waiting to be chosen.
They are truly living on borrowed time.
The children in our most popular Eastern Europe program are separated out below by the orphanages they are living in. There are no family size limitations, and multiple children from the same orphanage can be adopted during the same trip for a very low cost. MARRIED COUPLES ONLY.
The children are separated for the ease of new adoptive families in deciding if adopting two (or even three!) children is a good choice for them. Our YOUNGESTchildren in this country, ages 0-2 years, are also separated out this way. Families can choose any combination of gender or age from the same orphanage. And GRANTS CAN BE COMBINED towards the total cost of adopting more than one child.
FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROCESS AND/OR ANY OF THE WAITING CHILDREN ON THIS PAGE, PLEASE CLICK HERE
The majority of these children posted here can also be adopted by CANADIAN FAMILIES! Please inquire!
PLEASE HELP US raise grant funds and awareness for these precious, waiting angels. You really can save a life, with even the smallest gift! You are also invited to send a check (no Paypal fees) to
Reece's Rainbow, PO Box 4024, Gaithersburg, MD 20885
PLEASE designate which child you are sponsoring in your Paypal donation.

Sonya (3) Girl, Born October 26, 2005
Sonya is new to Reece's Rainbow, but is nearing 5 years old and needs a family quickly. She does have a heart condition, so she should seee a cardiologist once home. Sonya can be adopted with any of the other children in orphanage 3, and is blessed to still be at the baby house. She is able to walk and likes to play with balls and other toys. She can be so much more!!
This orphanage has a history of medicating the children, so many of them look sleepy and zoned out in their photos. It is imperative to find families for all of these children quickly. I have $100 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption! |
Danil (3-1) Boy, Born April 18, 2007
Oh, we FINALLY have new photos and info about little Danil! Danil is another special case where he has birth parents who love him dearly, and who want only the best life possible for him. They have come to us desperately seeking a loving adoptive family for Danil, and would ilke to have a semi-open relationship with his new family if possible. What an incredible opportunity to provide a wonderful life for this beautiful child, and to share the gift of his growth and achievement with his bio family.
Danil most likely has MOSAIC Down syndrome. He is completely healthy and very high functioning. Even at 3, he knows his letters, colors, shapes, etc. He loves books, he loves to run and play like a typical little boy. He has known the love of his parents, and is doing very very well. He eats on his own, is nearly potty trained, and will make a precious addition to any family. He is a social and affectionate child and is an orphanage favorite.

Dusty (3) Boy, Born March 17, 2005
YAY, a new picture of Dusty! Love his little buzz cut :) Dusty is such a handsome little man, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He has tremendous potential, but was also born with many challenges outside of his Down syndrome. Dusty was recently transferred to this Orphanage from the one he was originally in, and is doing SO much better! He is walking now and much more active and engaged. Birth trauma affecting multiple internal organs/systems. Multiple instances of CNS damage. Does not walk. Ischemic cardiopathy, Anemic stage 3, prematurity stage 1. Hope someone out there just falls in love, and will rescue him and give him the life he deserves, with access to proper medical care and the chance for a long, prosperous, and happy life!
This orphanage has a history of medicating the children, so many of them look sleepy and zoned out in their photos. It is imperative to find families for all of these children quickly.

Anastasiya (9)
Girl, Born September 8, 2007
SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!
Anastasiya is a darling little girl with brown hair and brown eyes. She is stuck in a crib for most of her life, and needs a family to get her OUT! Anastasiya does have an ASD (atrial septal defect) and an oval window that will need attention when she gets home. She needs to have surgery as soon as possible to correct this! She does has strabismus as well.
She is undernourished, and will blossom like a rose once home with her family.
Regrettably, this orphanage is one of the poorer ones, with very little outside aid and very little hope. All of the children are tiny and undernourished. These children are immediately transferred at 4, and have little chance of survival where they are sent. All of our waiting children need families, but these have a critical need. Please consider one of these children soon!!
I have $1794 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption! |
Orphanage 12
 Anya (12) Girl, Born December 14, 2006
Anya is a pretty little girl with unique facial features. She was born with a minor defect of interventricular and interatrial septum. A family visiting with her felt she may have some autistic tendencies, but it is also possible she has a dual diagnosis of Moebius Syndrome. We are trying to confirm this.
www.faces-cranio.org/Disord/Moebius.htmThere is no blood test to confirm Moebius, so it is diagnosed on clinical symptoms such as a lack of facial expression and a uniquely shaped nose.

Andrey S (14)
Boy, Born December 28, 2006
Andrey is a tiny little monkey! He has blonde hair and blue eyes. He has also has strabismus, which can be corrected surgically here in the US. Andrey will greatly benefit from early intervention therapy, and will just blossom the way all of our other children have! This little one has an ASD and a PDA, with some impairment of circulation. He will need heart surgery when he gets home. But he is SO young, and will greatly benefit from early intervention therapy here in the US.
From his caregivers in April 2010: child emotionally limited. Selectively comes into contact with adults. Has commitment to the toys: rattles, musical toys. Self-sitting. Not walking yet. Eat with spoon, drinking from a cup with an adult.
From one of our adoptive families who visited with him in May 2009: " He is such a little cutie! I am not sure if he is sitting on his own because he was propped against this fence outside and I didn't get a chance to snuggle him. But he is good size, a bit small for a 2 year old, but with therapy and stimulation, it would only be a matter of time before he thrives!! "
The children in this orphanage are VERY well taken care of. They are blessed by the financial and humanitarian support of a very large aid group, meaning adequate food, stimulation, toys, and even therapeutic items. They are all being raised with the typical children, so this helps them be even more high functioning. Even more so, they are shared with us by a loving director who genuinely wants to see these angels find families. We are honored to be able to seek families for these children, and hope we can succeed in placing ALL of them very quickly!

pafa-30C Chelsea Date of Birth: October 5, 2007 Gender: Female Eyes: Blue Hair: dark brown Character: cheerful, kind
SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!
This sweet little girl is almost 3 years old. She was born to a very young, single mom at 34 weeks gestation. She had some minor pulmonary issues in her first days of life as a result of her preemie birth, but she is very healthy now! She was born with an open oval window which may have closed on it's own.
Chelsea is affectionate, friendly, inquisitive child. She loves to hug and kiss. She smiles and laughs a lot. She is a pet in the group. She loves to play with dolls, puzzles. She is petite and gracious. She is active for a child with Down syndrome and can be strong-willed, get angry and weep if anything is not her way. But she can be easily distracted from a disappointing her thing. She cannot dress by herself and does not want to eat by herself. Her appetite is not very good. She is rather selective and does not like sweets. She is used to a potty, but cannot ask about it.
She started to sit up at 1.5 years of age, then started to crawl. She started to walk at 2 years of age. Now she runs fast, walks up and down the stairs, slides. She exhibits some muscle hypotony. She is delayed in her speech development. She speaks with syllables, but understands what is said to her and is obedient. To the question “where?’ she shows correctly her eyes, ears, arms.
Chelsea will be transferred in the coming year to a very remote part of the country, and will be *out of reach* for adoption. Hope someone will consider this beautiful child and give her hope for a future!

1ccqw-15 Maria F. Brothers and sisters no Date of Birth: September 17, 2007 Gender: Female Eyes: Brown Hair: brown Nature: cheerful, helpful, social
This muffin has a caregiver who loves her dearly. When they learned of the possibility of finding a family for her, they were so happy and offered the following info about her: "Maria is very friendly and in her group she helps the caregiver to give the food to children, like they give her cookies, for instance, and say please put to everybody and she does it. If she has one cookie she would divide it into pieces to give to all the people around."
From our facilitator: Maria was born from a socially strong family, the both parents were highly educated, not too young, they were in registered marriage. The parents were just not able to overcome the fact of appearance of a child with DS. Maria has also had heart problems, and she has had a surgery, which has solved them. Now she is functioning well. Also she has had problems with intestinal tract and she has had the surgery, which was also successful.

It is so painful to see these kids whose mothers drank during their pregnancy :((( Artem's mom was clearly not interested in giving him the best chance in life. This was her first pregnancy, he was born at 38 weeks, but she smoked and drank throughout the pregnancy. His mother kept him home until he was nearly a year old, so there is no telling what other damage she may have caused him during that time. Despite his difficult beginnings, he is described as a good natured boy, and will thrive in a loving family. He does have a minor myocardiopathy that should be followed once home, but he is active and doing much better now that he is in the orphanage.

"Vilis"
Boy, Born on April 12th, 2006
Vilis is a darling little boy who is just turning 3. He has light brown hair and blue eyes. Too cute! He was born with an oval window, but this may have closed on it's own already.
From an adoptive family who visited with him recently: Vilis is just darling! He is lagging behind, but not from lack of ability, just lack of opportunity and stimulation. I visited him and spent a good bit of time engaging him, he laughed and giggled, babbled some sounds...he is definitely in there and will really blossom in a loving family!! If there was some way for me to "add him to my tab", I'd do it right now. He is just aching for encouragement and challenge and praise. He really responded well to me with to toys and other stimuli. He is able to cruise the table, and I just know he will be up and walking very quickly once he is home. I was able to share some tips and techniques with the caregivers to include him in the activities of the others, to talk to him and play with him, that he WILL respond.

He waits for his loving family because he has Down syndrome. His family will be so lucky to be able to help this angel reach his fullest potential!

Will #21-1
Boy, Born April 8, 2005
Will can walk holding the hand of an adult but is not yet walking independently. He can pull to a stand, walk around with a hand on the wall and is starting to let go and take 1-2 steps on his own. He doesn’t show much interest in toys and is described as “very serious” in his mannerisms. He will respond when called by name and does smile when engaged by the staff. He is currently being given medications in an attempt to improve his cognition.
He can eat with a spoon and drink from a cup. He is beginning to make initial sounds (“ba-ba”, “da-da”), but is not yet talking. He attends a specialized kindergarten class.
