Annalyn #6

AnnalynAge: 10
Diagnosis: Down syndrome

Annalyn’s mother was a victim of human trafficking. When she became pregnant, she was able to move into a privately run orphanage that also houses single mothers who are homeless. Annalyn’s mother lived in the facility with her until Annalyn was 3 years old. Annalyn was later transferred to a different orphanage and currently lives in a group home.

Annalyn feeds herself, drinks from a cup on her own and controls her physiological needs during the day. She walks, climbs on play sets in the yard, runs and goes up stairs independently. She dresses herself with minimal assistance. She likes to play with toys, balls, loves to play pretend games and makes attempts to play role games with adults or other children. She loves to swing, to hum and dance. She understands what is said to her and follows oral directions, but does not have well developed speech. She freely interacts with the other children via mimic and gestures; she likes to play with them and seeks their attention. She demonstrates curiosity about the world around her, especially when it is in relation to the others. She attends a special needs school during the school year.

$5.40 has been donated towards the cost of my adoption!
