Girl, born August 2006
Congenital heart disease; Cerebral Palsy
Dacey has a very fragile appearance. She has not had surgery to correct her complex heart conditions. The doctor in the orphanage said they cannot complete the surgery in her country. Her fingers are stumped and blue, and her feet are blue. Dacey plays well with other kids and her favorite toys are balls. Her caregiver said she is scared of strangers and usually gets quiet and cries around them. She likes to listen to music, particularly Chinese children’s songs. She can’t speak words, but sometimes she speaks sounds to herself. She can understand and follow directions and her caregiver says her intelligence is normal. She is very timid, but she likes to laugh. She is receiving rehab training everyday from her caregivers and is physically making gains. She can walk independently, so her caretakers now allow her to get out of her bed more often.
This precious child desperately needs a family that can get her the medical care she needs and to help her become all she can be.
