Boy, Age: 7
Diagnosis: cognitive delays
Jace was placed in foster care at the age of 4. He was given a diagnosis of infantile Autism in 2011. That diagnosis has been questioned, based on Jace’s development and lack of indicators for Autism. He has been attending a day program for children with special needs for over 2 years and he continues to progress in all aspects of his development.
We will receive an updated report on his current development soon. Reports from 2012 indicate that at that time, his gross motor skills are not delayed. He walks, runs, climbs stairs independently, etc. He can feed himself, was beginning to toilet train & was mastering other self-help skills such as getting dressed/undressed without assistance. He interacts with other children and adults. He plays with toys. His expressive speech is delayed, but he does understand what is said to him.
There are several additional photos and videos of him from 2012. In the videos, he is playing with toys, making eye contact and responding (by following directions) when spoken to. New photos and videos will be available soon.
Because we only have this child’s file for a short time, he will not be able to receive donations until a family is found for him.
