Charlie and Lola are siblings, and need a family together! Aren’t they sweet? They both have features consistent with FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome). This is not a diagnosis, but a cautionary disclosure.
From a family who met them in early 2013:
Lola seemed so sad when we met her. We would stroke her cheek and tickle her and by the time we left she would burst out in smiles when she saw us. She would blossom if she were loved! Our 6 year old was with us and she loved to grab his finger through the crib bars, she even gave him her pacifier one day! She’s very tiny, delicate and beautiful.
Charlie has a gorgeous smile and he was walking when we were there. He loves to smile, wave, and loves to play with toys. The director asked us to find a family for them.
*** These children have significant facial features of FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome). This is a cautionary disclosure to better prepare our potential adoptive families. Families considering this child should research the challenges that can come with this condition. You can learn more about FAS here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fetal_alcohol_syndrome and post to our Facebook group to ask other adoptive parents about the challenges and blessings of children with FAS. ***
