Diagnosis: lower flaccid paraparesis and internal hydrocephaly –shunted.
Donovan was born with spina bifida that was surgically corrected. He has a shunt to control the hydrocephalus. He sits unaided, holding onto a fixed support. He turns from back to belly and rises from a position of lying onto his belly while supporting himself on his hands. He makes cautious attempts to crawl and to get to a desired toy. He pronounces continuous combinations of sounds purposefully as well as syllables, when imitating adults. He makes attempts to pronounce words consisting of repeated syllables (such as “mama”). He reaches for hanging toys and grabs small objects that are handed to him in his hand.
Because we only have this child’s file for a short time, he will not be able to receive donations until a family is found for him.
