GUNTER for the Maslanka family — AK
Anna has long been familiar with adoption, having a brother through adoption who has special needs, and she felt the call to adopt from a young age. She haunted adoption websites, including Reece’s Rainbow, for a number of years, while waiting to be old enough and financially secure enough to be able to adopt children of her own. In the mean time, she became a foster parent, and became friends with Will, after meeting him at work. Will has two adult sons of his own, but had always wanted more children. Though an unlikely match, they found that they had much in common and greatly enjoyed each other’s company. Still, it was quite unexpected when they fell in love. One day Anna came across the profile of a little boy with special needs in Eastern Europe, listed on his country’s adoption website, and fell in love for the second time. Later, when he was listed on Reece’s Rainbow around the same time Anna and Will were getting married, they knew it was meant to be. Although an international adoption is not the best financial decision when they are in the process of buying their first home together, they are determined to raise the necessary funds to bring him, and hopefully one or two other little ones, home to start their family.
