CHANNAH for the Monier family — FL

photo fwbutton150.pngChannah (1)The Monier Family is excited to add another color to their family from Reece’s Rainbow: PINK!

Eric and Jenny have been married for 11 years and have four boys: Jeremiah, Dima, Elijah, and Sammy. Dima joined their family in August of 2011 when they adopted him from Ukraine. From the day after Jenny and Dima landed on U.S. soil the boys have repeatedly asked, “So when will we finally get a sister?” Their prayers have been heard and answered!

Since Dima’s adoption the Monier Family has continued to advocate for the children listed on Reece’s Rainbow. Eric and Jenny were drawn specifically to Channah, however, while they were going through testing for their youngest, Sammy. It had been thought that Sammy had a mild form of Cerebral Palsy thus they researched the condition to learn as much as they could. While it has been determined that Sammy does not have any form of CP they continued to pray for Channah and hoped that a family would come forward for her. God had a wonderful plan in store for the Monier’s and Channah in that they were meant to be her family! The Scripture Proverbs 24:12 played a large part in nudging them in the right direction: “Once our eyes are opened, we can’t pretend we don’t know what to do. God who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act.”

Eric, Jenny, and the boys have quite a bit of experience with individuals with special needs. Not only had Eric been an ESE teacher before his call into ministry, but their son, Dima, has Down Syndrome. Their family also works with adults and children with special needs at their church through a group called the Love Department. Each week the Monier’s serve about 70 adults and a few children through teaching, singing, art, and lots of love. The special needs adults are affiliated with an amazing organization, The Key Training Center, that helps with job training, offers independent and assisted living, and life skills. Not only will Channah have a family of her own, but an amazing support network as she grows into an adult.

The Monier Family is thrilled to finally be adding a girl to their family and humbly ask that you prayerfully consider donating to their adoption. Most importantly they ask that you keep them as well as Channah in prayer through each step of the way.
