CORINA for the Murdoch family — UT
Kent and Kirsten met for the first time in Junior High, who would have thought years later they would marry! When they finally clued in on life they tied the knot. They have been married for 10 years and have two boys. Their oldest is 8 and their soon to be middle child is almost 5. While they never knew were life would actually take them they are extremely happy that by chance they ran across a story of a Utah family who had worked with Reeces Rainbow and had recently brought home their little girl. It was so inspiring and of course how can you go to the Reeces Rainbow website and not fall in love with all of these beautiful children. So the search began, much to Kirsten’s surprise! When Kent got the adoption fever their was no looking back. They started researching websites, countries and the process. It all kept leading them back to China. They at one point pulled out the globe and had the boys close their eyes and point just to see were their little fingers may land! Yup, closest to China. There was a turning point after watching a video on adoption and being very torn as to were their hearts were leading them that Kent announced ” China! We are supposed to adopt from China!”. Many have asked the family if they are nervous to adopt a child with Special Needs. That decision was pretty simple, Kirsten has worked for a non-profit that provides assistance to individuals with special needs for over 12 years. That also means that as a family that has been over 12 years of coming to different activities. So to be honest that was not Kent and Kirsten’s fear, it was the cost that seemed scary. They decided to jump in ( more like ungracefully dive in) and that’s were the story really begins for this family. They have been matched to a little girl, Corina, that is waiting for them in China. Soon, baby girl, soon we will be heading your way!
