WASHINGTON for the Meacham family — IN
Life is a journey with many paths and roads in which to travel. Most of the time, one cruises through life on the main road (with a few small side roads along the way.) Occasionally without warning, the road can dramatically change course and lives are altered for good. This is just what happened to Steve and Kim Meacham. They were content with their 23 year marriage and 9 biological children. Life was good and they weren’t particularly looking for a new road to travel. Then one day, Kim was looking at the children listed on Reece’s Rainbow and praying for them, as she frequently did, when she came across a picture of Washington and instantly knew he was theirs. She knew her family would soon be forever changed and that they were about to take a new road, an uncharted road, but one filled with promise and peace. She decided to show each of her children his picture and bio as soon as they came home from school and see what their reaction would be. Each child, upon seeing Washington’s picture, said how they felt he was supposed to be a member of their family. Their 10-year-old had the most profound reaction- as soon as she saw his picture, she exclaimed excitedly (while jumping up and down) “That’s my brother! That’s my brother!” What amazing reactions! Steve was on a business trip at the time and was unaware of all the excitement. When he returned home, he was told the amazing story and agreed to pray on it and ask what God wanted their family to do. After praying, they all got a resounding YES! answer that indeed Washington was to be a member of their family. The Meachams are so excited to travel on uncharted territory and include Washington in their journey through life. Please help them bring him home and give him a family of his own, one who will love and care for him forever. They truly feel like he is meant to be theirs!
