PENNY for the Huizinga family — VA
Paul & Maureen Huizinga have been married for over 12 years and have 6 children. Paul works developing curricula for social workers and Maureen works as a nurse practitioner for a surgical unit. They home school their children, are active in their church, enjoy gardening, and keeping up with some four footed companions.
Their hearts have always been tender towards children and adoption, but they were unaware of the magnitude of need for those orphans with special needs until dear friends adopted from Bulgaria. While following their story, the Lord began to work on each of their hearts. They helped support other adopting families and kept an ongoing prayer log of waiting children in their kitchen, and there was great rejoicing as these children found their forever homes. One curly haired little girl, who didn’t look so dissimilar to some curly haired Huizinga kids, never was chosen. They couldn’t imagine why not, and they continued to pray for her. The Lord then whispered , as is His way, that she wasn’t chosen, because she was to come home to them! With fear, trembling, and a stack of paperwork 16 miles high, the family has embarked on an adventure to rescue Princess Penny and BRING HER HOME.
