LINDEN and JAXON for the Nine family — OR
Mike and Katrina have been married for 21 years and have seven children, ages 5-19. Six came to them through birth, and one through adoption. In March of 2011 they adopted Vahnya from Russia. Vahnya was also listed on Reece’s Rainbow and he also has Down Syndrome like Linden. Vahnya has been a huge blessing to his family bringing them all so much joy and love he is their little sunshine. They have all learned so much from him. The family has become active members of the with Down Syndrome community and have met so many neat people. His two big sisters Amanda and Madison have even helped to form the blog Guardian Angels. Their group helps to raise money for other families that are adopting children that are listed on Reece’s Rainbow.
The Lord has been putting a 2nd adoption on Mike and Katrina’s hearts from the day they brought Vahnya home so they knew they were not done, they were just waiting and praying for who it was that God had for them. When one evening Katrina saw Linden’s picture and just as it happened with Vahnya the Lord said to her, “This one is yours, He is yours.” She knew right at that moment that the waiting was over, that they in fact were going to do this again.
They found out that Linden is 2 years old and he only weighs 12 lbs and does not yet sit up by himself and still only drinks a bottle, he is truly like an infant. This breaks their hearts and makes them want to move even faster to get him home. They know that in their big family of love surrounding him, he will grow and be a healthy chubby little boy running around the house getting into things in no time.They know that this will not be easy, adoption takes hard work and a lot of trust in the Lord something they hope they have learned well from their first adoption.
