ABEL for the Bailey family — KY
Scott and Ashley met in college in 2001, started dating in 2002, became engaged in 2003, and married in 2004! Both were open to a house full of children from the beginning, whether through adoption or biologically. The Lord blessed them with a pregnancy in 2010 with twins that ended in miscarriage due to a blighted ovum (where the embryo fails to develop). The Lord used that experience as well as the testimonies/stories of friends & even strangers to open their heart towards the path of adoption for their family. They do not feel as though adoption is “plan B” but Gods “plan A.” It’s not something they chose because of their circumstances, but how they felt led by the Lord to carry out James 1:27. Scott & Ashley are excited to see how the Lord fills their empty rooms in their home with children. Whether their children are biological or adopted, with or without special needs, & regardless of race, they view them as their children who may or may not share DNA but will share a family.
Ashley had browsed Reece’s Rainbow several times and would check back on certain children that grabbed her heart to see if they had families yet. One little boy tugged at her heart more than usual and she sent the information to her husband. Both agreed to pray on it but felt as though without a specific answer, they could only take a leap of faith as Peter did in the Bible and “get out of the boat.” They prayed that doors would be closed if it wasn’t in the Lord’s will but instead they all flew open! Scott & Ashley are thrilled to be on the journey of welcoming their first child into their home. Join them in praying through their process, traveling along the journey, and watching the Lord show up in many ways!
