Diagnosis: Down syndrome
From a missionary who visited with him in August 2010: Luke is a sweet boy who came to the orphanage at the age of 4 years. He began their “Half Heaven” kindergarten program and is doing well. Luke is able to eat and ress by himself, is potty trained, and plays well with others. Luke is very fond of music. He is physically active, and medically healthy.
Update from Nov. 2012
Now he is studying in the special class. He can say out the numbers within 10 with the flexible fingers. His favorite class is music. He will teach the young brothers to sing after school, when he sings a sentence, then let the brother follow him. He likes to sing Luke is a very obedient and sensible child. He can quietly sit on the sofa to watch cartoons, picture books. He likes to draw his own fingerprints. And he likes to draw some irregular lines and pick up toys. He is very sensitive and helpful with the younger brother. He is workable, in the morning when he gets up then he will make his own bed, and he will help the mother to clean the bowls and chopsticks to the kitchen. When taking a bath, he will take the clothes.
He will wash his little hands before meals and after the toilet. He does not need to feed when having meals. Luke likes to take morning exercise by following the father, such as running, doing excises, doing pushups, hanging high bar. Luke will give out the fruits or snacks, and he is not greedy. Good appetite and never picky.
