Holly 25C

18mc5-25C
Girl, born April 2009
Eyes: Hazel
Hair: blond

Diagnosis: Down syndrome

Restless nature. (02/24/11) The girl is calm. Cognitive interest in practically does not show. Self-sits, stands with support lying rotated in all directions, not creeps. Independently takes the toy in both hands, unstable interest. Understanding of simple everyday instructions available. Emotional reaction only after prolonged stimulation. Spontaneously utters certain vowel sounds.  Does not self feed.

Update from a family who met her, March 2012:

I walked into the room and immediately recognized Holly from her picture on RR. I was there to visit another child, so after quickly greeting her, I turned away to interact with the other child instead. Holly would have none of that! She doesn’t walk yet, but she scoots quickly, and made her way directly to me and into my lap. She giggled a lot and interacted with me the entire time I held her. She stole my heart with her outgoing personality.

The caregivers told me that she had health issues for the first few years of her life and she is only now becoming healthy. She is very tiny for her age. She is in an orphanage that provides for the children but I feel really needs a family soon so that she can start receiving interventions and therapies so that she may grow into a healthy little girl.

$2507.50 is available towards the cost of my adoption!
