Beacan #11-24

DOB: 2001
Diagnosis: agenesis of the anus and rectum, artificial anus extracted on the front abdomen wall, Anomaly of the spine; Sigmo-vesicular fustula; anemia, delays in all aspects of development

He is extremely small for his age. Last year, at the age of 10, he was 37 inches tall and weighed only 23 pounds.

June 2012 update:
Beacan is the size of an average 2 year old. He has an artificial anus and this is his only medical need.
He can walk while holding on to one hand of an adult. He stands for long periods of time next to unmoving support.  He’s not yet walking independently, but he is very close.  He is not talking, but does babble. He can follow simple directions and attempts to communicate his wants/needs with gestures. He can feed himself certain foods and requires adult assistance with others. He eats from a spoon. He drinks out of an open cup independently. He plays with a variety of toys and attends a class at the orphanage with a specialized teacher. He interacts positively with other children and gets very excited when familiar adults pay attention to him.
Additional photos and a video of Beacan from June 2012 are available.

$120.75 is available towards the cost of my adoption!
